District Alternates (and bracket changes)

  • cruiser_96
Any alternates get in yet? (Kind of a double edged sword with this one. One the one hand, someone is out. Not really that cool. On the other hand, a kid is getting a second chance.)

Also, I just printed off a fresh set of brackets and noticed that in the D-I Central District 152 pound weight class, Pearson (DJ) and Holloway (GL) switched positions.

    Any other changes???

ps: This REALLY messes with our Inside The Circle bit. And we really didn't need this kind of help! ;)

Any idea of why they swicthed?
    Was the Mville bracket wrong.
It showed Holloway winning the 3rd place match over Pearson 5-2.
  • cruiser_96
The reason... 3rd: Pearson (DJ) dec. Holloway (GL) 5-2.

    And there you go!

In all fairness, that's two names out of 224. And if you'd like to break it down more, 3 finals matches x 14 weight classes... 1 out of 42 wrong. That's what, 97% accuracy rate!? Maybe close to 98% correct? Not too shabby.

However, I think it does change some things up in that weight class!!!

Oh the excitement and we still have 29 hours 20 minutes and 23 seconds!!!

Guess we will have to agree to disagree....

I'm glad he will have a few more years of eligibility. Sorry about this tho. That puts Reider from teays valley in if he has kept his weight down.

Sorry to hear about Zack. I had him as a darkhorse at 152. Strong kid. Very sad news.

Am I reading the Pick North bracket correctly, that there were only six 152's entered, so with Zack out the kid who got 2nd to last is now a DQ?

    Talk about stars aligning.

question: how often do the DAs at the lower weights keep their weight down in case something like this happens? Unless the darby boys thought to say something and tipped off the DA that this might happen, my guess is probably not often. anyway, hope he makes the most of it!

    Yes we did...
  • Cthelites
    Thnx all!
    Tough yr for us.
Yes we did notify their coach that there was a possibility(not that you have to) for scratch.
We were hoping to get cleared but it just wasnt in the cards for either of my kids this yr. Things happen for a reason I guess!
Dr was just doing his job...when you cant stay on your own balance theres no way a dr is going to pass you let alone all those base line tests that you have to pass to get cleared. They have all these new procedures and protocols nowadays.
Yeah at least Zack still has two more yrs left but it hurt more with my Sr not getting to roll. Kind of like salt in the wound. Im kind of numb by now.
First tourney in about 6 yrs that I didnt sweat lol.
