Inside The Circle, in conjunction with GOhio, presents...

The 2013 D-I Central District White Board Predictions!!!

Your hosts for this edition are Mark and Shawn. They will provide a comprehensive outlook for each weight class, starting from 106, and working all the way through heavyweight. But do know, at this time, only 106-145 are recorded. We are hoping for some time over the next two days to record and upload. Things are looking TIGHT!!!! but doable. (Darn these "responsiblities"!!! Wife, kids, JOB, etc.)

Anywho, another way to classify this would be "The Ramblings of an Idiot and Some Other Guy." I'll take that!

As always, if you don't like where you name is, PROVE US WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck to all involved.

    Here you go...

Small as it was, I appreciate the love you gave to Gasca at 120. Good kid who started wrestling as a sophomore and qualified for districts as a junior and senior

Westie... you bring up an excellent point. We aren't hating on anyone. In fact! It's the opposite. We appreciate everyone's efforts so far. It just so happens someone has to win, someone has to lose, and we have chosen to do our best to pick/guess at/predict who is going to win. We will most likely be wrong more than we are right. And to add to that, the more I look at some matches, the more inclined I am to question my/our picks!!!

Again, best of luck to all competitors.

Nice! Gasca is a tough kid. He beat Ackley twice last year, but Ackley pinned him 1:29 at Olentangy Orange. Going to be an exciting match to watch.
Ackley pinned Terry at sectionals. Was a tough match, Ackley led 6-4 then caught him with 11 seconds left.

I think these picks are great!! I like Fluty over Penzone though!

Kudos to you guys for taking the time to do these

edit - I want Valenti over Wimer... (Puts on flame retardent suit - expecting the explosion)
  • Lateraldrop
    I love this

Happy Birthday Kakos! You guys need to do this next year in the pre-season

Very cool! Enjoyed watching 103. Looking forward to catching up through out the week. Keep it up, stuff like this is awesome!

nykc: that (120: Valenti/Wimer) was one of the matches I was thinking of when I typed the earlier post. Very entertaining matches coming up. Again, best of luck to all of them.

    Awesome Cruiser and Shawn!

    Mr Ambassador!

No love for Rooney a State qualifier as a freshman. His loss to Smith was due to not one but two penalty points. A fleeing the mat call to give Smith a 2-0 lead going into the 3rd and a stalling call with 5 seconds left after Rooney took Smith down. Thanks for the predictions and info but I think this is one you goofed on and I see a Rooney Smith rematch on Sat. night.

Cruiser, I may have worded my post wrong. I wasnt challenging your prediction of the match in any way, I really appreciated that Shawn mentioned him as a tough kid! I wasnt saying that you guys underrated him in any way! No sarcasim here :)

Westie: I got that from your post. I just wanted to make sure the folks understood that even though we pick a kid to advance, it doesn't mean we are "hating" on the other kid. Sometimes things can get lost along the way. (Case in point: One of my FAVORITE examples to give... We had a kid who was tough in his own right; just happened to be in a stacked weight. We told he might be better off going 145 instead of 140 in order to make the district tournament. I got a call from the parent asking why I said Little Johnny sucked!!! After unravelling the conversations, I found out that because I thought LJ was the 3rd best at 145 instead of the 5th/6th best at 140, that meant - in his world - that I thought he sucked. Not true at all! I just knew that three of the 140s would place at the state tournament, and I thought he would have a tough time if two or all three came to one sectional.)

Long story short... You're the man, westie. I've known you long enough to get what you were saying.

Lion69: #ProveUsWrong !!! For your sake - and actually, more Rooney sake, I hope he does it! Never have I been offended when a kid I picked to lose, wins. (And I wasn't upset when the 189 pounder told me - after qualifying for the state tournament - that I could take my predictions and shove them, well, you know where.)

Once again, best luck to all.

I am pretty sure we are finishing the second half tonight.

Cruiser, as always a great production. You take a lot of time to analyze, predict and produce. We may not all agree with you, but thanks for all you do. This weekend will prove who really wants that trip the most!

fyi on the "warior" battling back from an opening loss.
Last yr Bowens from Darby lost to fox in the first round.
Fox was just a horrible matchup for Bowens already beating him earlier in the yr.
We thought hed have to face him again in the go to match but fox got beat in the qtrs.
Bowens ended up pinning his way to 3rd!
