Hamilton Ross just won on criteria over CVCA.

Wow. Also Toledo Central Catholic (#5) beat # 4 Lexington, even after giving up 3 FF
    And Northridge (#6) beats Amanda-Clearcreek....

I was quite surprised. That is where I went to school and 'tried' to wrestle. They've had a decent year this year beating a few Local Div 1 schools and finishing at least top five in their tournaments.

Tuslaw is impressing me. I can't say I've ever watched them compete. They just put the match out of reach, 39-6 over Northridge. Now wrestling in the 182 pound weight class

Delta is beating Versailles 45-6 and are gettin ready to start 182.

    D-II
Graham is getting lucky left and right against Toledo Central Catholic. Currently up 34-3 in 170

Claymont is also impressive. They are up 45-13 in 220.

    D-I
St. Eds is doing what they do. 29-12, wrestling at 170.

Perry is cruising over Moeller 29-7, also at 170.

Sorry.....not clear enough.:) I read that.....just wondering about Mullen?
  • It is what it is
Congrats to Northridge on their run!

Well my Congrats to Ross High for their upset today. Just goes to show that's why they wrestle. I like the new format. I could give no 'poops' in years past about the State Duels as Ross would have never have been there. I'd have no reason to follow the past few weeks otherwise...and I have followed.

Good stuff. Thanks everyone for posting.

Well, losing 2-1 and one of them being a fleeing the mat call is tough....I can see if the fleeing was intentionally to leave the mat, but when you get called for fleeing trying to get an escape, it's tough. Technically, it probably is still fleeing, but the intent was not to flee, simply to escape. This was the call, it is what it is I guess.

Nice pictures. Too bad the dispatch can't do that but the little bitty eagle gazzette can.

Just let the dispatch know you will be dropping subscription due to lack of HS wrestling coverage. I did this morning.

I will let them know but I don't think it will matter. lol. It is a bit rediculous that they couldn't even put them on their website like Lancaster Eagle gazzette does.

Just curious for those who attended the first state team tournament, what do you think? How was the atmosphere? Did the OHSAA do a good job running the tournament?

I think OHSAA did a wonderful job running the tourney. I agree with most folks on here, the attendance was not what I thought it would be, but teams were coming in & out all day, so my guess would be that paid attendance was much higher than what appeared at any certain time. Also, someone suggested that the finals being 2- 3 hours after semis probably needs changed as well. If your team was out of it and you had a long drive home, hard to stay around until 8 PM for the finals to start. Maybe in the future, they could find a venue that holds less, but creates that tournament athmosphere.

All & All, I thought it was ran well, because of events at the French field house & the Ice rink, parking was a nightmare, but besides that..All was good.
