Brusco?

Anybody know if Brusco from Delaware Hayes will be at 106 or 113 come sectionals time? I know he made 106 once but seems to be doing very weel at 13.

I don't think that decision has been made yet. As far as sectionals he will win either weight at Westland. I believe he makes it out if districts at either weight as well.

I heard both from good sources in the past week. In states, he places top 4 at 106 IMO; may or may not place at 113. Given that he has a lot of trouble making 106, I would guess he will be at 113.

No doubt he gets to State in either class. (Not so sure he places that high at 106, if at all, at state.) I'd think with Wimer staying at 120, that opens up 113 ... as well as he's been doing at 113, it would be a shame to risk the drop and do poorly, when he could get the state experience at 113 while feeling good and wrestling 100% ... not worrying about the next weigh-in, just wrestling!

Brusco had a really close match with Riley(ranked 3rd in the state). I was told Brusco was up the majority of the match when Riley hit a Peterson late. I think that could be evidence he would be fine at either weight and can place. Either way I see him in the district finals if it works out. Either against Nace at 106 or Riley at 113. Both would be great matches.

I heard he is going 120 just to get in all the fun at Darby! Not really...He will be at 113

THAT WOULD BE INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And kind of awesome at the same time because if you think about it like, basically, there are eight to ten really, really, really, good kids at that weight class and by adding Brusco it would add another because Brusco is pretty good because this one time he practiced his techniques and stuff and then he wrestled a kid who was a state place winner - and that kid had a brother who was a state qualifier a few years ago so that means he is pretty good and the score was close when they wresled. So yeah. That would be pretty crazy.)

Darn these kids. They infiltrate your brain with their speech.

I've known and coached Brusco since he was six yrs old all the way through GS.
Greg has been cutting weight since he was eight or so years old. Rarely to any advantage.
He'll be on the podium at some point, whether it's this year or not.
He has wrestled the toughest kids from all over the nation during his GS/JH career.
I'm thankful that he's going 113. It will be good for his psyche.
