UnderratedBig win last night for Johnson(Hayes) over Kamba(Orange) 6-4. Johnson gets better every time I see him. Great work Shawn!

West and Westerville North are in a 2x4 tri with Orange and Liberty next weekend...so Stockton and Struttman should get that match-up we all want to see.oldskoolnike;1363225 wrote:Half Full, from the results I have seen right now, Stockton appears to be right behind the elite pack, and far ahead of the field behind him (barring one loss I did not get a chance to see). He has a good win over the thomas worthington kid who beat crumb. On the downside, I dont think west will see any of the top 4-5 guys at 220 until sectionals. -

Any major shake ups? We've had some excellent discussions.
A few kids making noise (not that they were TOTALLY off the radar):
106: Furnass (OL), Laney (GM), Lasko (CC), Norris (TW)
113: Rumors abound of a Wimer drop
120: Word on the skreet is Rahmani is back. Leib (WM), early discussions had Rooney dropping... Still happening??? Is Ackley (TW) here?
126: Davis (DH), King (TV), Hogue (PC) returns.
132: Pretty solid trio at this weight class. Thrasher (OL) did well against Wilson (HDav) (dec. 11-8)
138: Another excellent trio. Lawler (HDav) of course. And Miller (L) is trying to bring the heat. Anyone else? Messerall (TW)
145: Aside from Ryan possibly bumping up to 170 (is this guy a house or what?), any other moves? Pcinzky (PC) just had a good bout with someone, right? (ptown: I realize I butchered the spelling. Let it go.)
152: Notestine (PN) is back. Chappalear (GC), Deluse (L), Sumner (DH)... UA has a Neely at one of these weights
160: Holloway (GL). Bond (L) is good.
170: Dial (PN), Heilman (O)... anyone else? Funk (L).
182: Tough top 3 here.
195: Johnson (DH) beat Kamba (OO) last night.
220: The aforementioned Stockton (W) is tough. Lacey (CW) is out there as well. So is Kinzer (TV).
285: I think there are some 285's who might be able to give #s 2 & 3 a run; just not sure of the names.

cruiser_96A couple of others I just remembered... Deriuex (WN) and Pollitt (O). I'm sure there are 17 others.
Comfort (DJ), Transue (DJ) Llenza (WS), one of the Theising's (WS)... -
nykcAckley is at 120. Looking forward to the Rahmani match tonight if he is back.
-
cruiser_96Also, is Gundling (WK) a senior this year? Heck! Maybe a junior. Or he might have graduated. Can't remember. Kilbourne also has Oberly, Wahl and perhaps a big man.
I forgot about Obergfell (SC) as well. -

M5 GrapplerNot if you saw DiSabato versus Abdujelil tonight
-
M5 GrapplerStruttman looked great versus Crum tonight. Threw him twice, late flurry cost him 9-6. Crum named MVW @ L. Heights.
-
M5 GrapplerThree Whitehall # 1's lost to Westerville North kids tonight in finals at Heights. How big is the gap between DI and DII. DiSabato gave Abdujelil his first loss, Durieux controlled match versus Delgadillo and Hinz at 160 looked strong. Whitehall #1 DII won on last match versus #7 North DI minus a couple regulars ?

Westie101
Whitehall was without Noah Jay, their 106 who was a state qualifier last season. I dont think the gap is quite as big as you think. DiSabato is tough as nails, #2 in the district, and a junior. Abdujelil is only a freshman. Durieux was a district placer last year, and Delgadillo didnt make it to districts, so I expected that. I'm a d1 man myself, but Ill give d2 props, especially when they have to deal with teams like Claymont and Steubenville at districts.M5 Grappler;1364725 wrote:Three Whitehall # 1's lost to Westerville North kids tonight in finals at Heights. M5 GrapplerHalf Full Nelson;1363030 wrote:Not familiar with Struttman (#3 @ 220, Westerville North.) Where was he last year? I believe David Stockton (returning DQ) from Columbus West has only lost once, to a kid he later pinned in the same tourney. He's looked good at 220 after moving up from 182.
Struttman is a football player - still learning has Brendan Barlow ( State Champ W.Central ) Kent State All-American working out with him some.
He meets Mowrey and Stockton this week Thur - Sat. Had Crum HT on the ropes, two throws too close to edge of mat from pulling upset -
M5 GrapplerAgree w/ Claymont Saw them At Medina, All of their big scorers come back next year too. Could be best DII public school in a long time. ( Okay, I know they recruit from New Philly, Dover and Tuscy) But still public, just like Hilliard Davidson ( Catholic ).

Graham is public... St. Paris is the City, Graham is the school district -
