then why wasn't leib in the finals vs. kakos? (not doubting, just wondering how the pools broke down)lennyrox55;1352730 wrote:lieb won in triple overtime, and I think kakos beat him 3-0 -
cruiser_96BnR: I'll assume it was a pool-to-bracket style tournament. Pickerington North ran a similar style tournament, in which an individual who lost in the pool rounds, could - technically - still get first place. Or even 2nd place.

yeah, I'm guessing leib's win came in the pool. just wondering what else happened in the pool to bump leib from the finals bracket.cruiser_96;1352757 wrote:BnR: I'll assume it was a pool-to-bracket style tournament. Minnard, Lieb, and Kelley (Hillsboro) were in the same pool. Lieb lost to Kelley, Minnnard pinned Kelley. On criteria Minnard won pool, Kelley 2nd on head to head -
justwatchA and B pool. Each wrestled every person in pool. Top 2 of each pool were put into bracket. 1 vrs 2. Winners wrestled for championship. They also did brackets for others. I think it was all about mat time. 6 mats going in 2 different gyms. The pace was quick, sometimes too quick for some. We were out of there by 5 pm Friday. Tons of mat time for all wrestlers!!!!
