Licking Valley Quad 12/19 with Big Walnut, West Jeff, DeSales

  • 1prouddad
LV is hosting this quad Weds 12/19 Wrestling starts at 5pm.

    Thoughts? Predictions? Key matchups?

I know West Jeff is strong in the upper weights as is Licking Valley.

Big Walnut has a couple of tough kids too.

I don't know much about DeSales lineup this year - can anyone fill us in?

If Eisnicher of Big Walnut wrestles then Wogan loses but Valley all together should win as a team

Wogan pinned Eisnicher last year in the 2nd period at the Big Walnut Quad

Nate McCown loses both his matches. He's overrated.

Its a new season and last year he was fresh off a shoulder injury so I've heard but if he is healthy the kid will surely beat Wogan

Being a district runner up (at a higher weight class) earns the respect of being "rated" pretty high!!!

Eisnnicher will not be wrestling tonight as he had an emergency appendectomy last week. I am sure it would be a fun match to see, but looks like we are gonna have to wait a while to see it.

that's terrible. my guess is you'll be waiting a year, assuming neither is a senior, or forever if one of them is. i would be amazed if someone came back from a mid-season appendectomy, or even if the doctors would clear that. the risk of serious hernia seems quite high... in any case, my prayers and best wishes go out to this young man.

Huntergreen. Agree with your comments on McCown. I think someone just created a few usernames to do some "chain-yanking".

Sorry to hear that Alec's season was interrupted like that. I had the same surgery at 19 and that takes a while to get back to normal. -wishing him a speedy recovery!

Chain-Yanking? I love high school wrestling and love to pick the people I want to win I voice my opinion very clearly No Chain-Yanking

Bump - you are probably right. Cuts in the abdominal wall take a long time to heal- showing my age but when I had mine out it was before they used scopes so I ended up with a 4 inch cut. Wasnt even allowed to ride in a car for a month. Nowadays though Im sure they use a scope so I'd think the incisions are smaller. Still though a cut in the abdomen is a cut in the abdomen. Hopefully he heals quick. Hate to see that happen to a kid mid-season.

Wogan's a Sr so if they don't meet up this year it wont happen.

LV scores (I may be off a point or two)
    LV 64 BW 7
    LV 54 WJ 20
-not sure about the Desales scores

Some open weight classes hurt both BW and WJ
Also-sad to see WJ's Ratliffe with a broken foot. Hope he heals quickly!

Some great wrestling tonight at LV.....WJ really missing 2 SQ in Ricky Ratcliff and Hayden Fulton but obvioulsy that would still not have made up difference agains LV, as they were just too much for WJ. 195 lb match was a good one in the LV WJ dual. Gotta shout out to little guy from WJ who won 1st match tonight (other than forfeits). He always works his rear off and had taken his lumps given he has only wrestled 3 years. Good job Joe. Good luck LV, pretty solid team.

That was an exciting match. Sometimes the littlest guys have the biggest hearts! Congrats Joe.
