  Looking for teams for a Junior High Tournament on 12-1-12.
  

  The Dwayne “Bubba” Coleman Junior High Wrestling Invitational 2012

  Martins Ferry Wrestling will be hosting the 4th Annual Bubba Coleman Martins Ferry Junior High Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, December 1, 2012. The tournament will be held in the high school gymnasium. This event is in memory of Coach Dwayne “Bubba” Coleman who passed almost three years ago after a long battle with cancer.
  
  We are looking for 12-16 teams to compete in the tournament and we are hoping for a highly competitive tournament to kick off the season. The tournament will be run as a pool style tournament. However, in the event a weight class has too few participants for a pool, we will make every attempt to get each wrestler as many matches as possible. If a weigh class has more than 16 entries, we may create reserve pools to ensure everyone get as many matches as possible. Last year’s tournament featured wrestlers from 14 schools.
  
  Wrestlers will be seeded and placed in pools/brackets based on previous year’s accomplishments and the tournament is limited to 7[SUP]th[/SUP] and 8[SUP]th[/SUP] grade wrestlers only, NO freshman or 6[SUP]th[/SUP] graders will be allowed to enter.
  
  Awards will be given to the top four (4) finishers in each weight class and team awards to the top two (2) teams. We will also award the Coach Bubba Outstanding Wrestler Award.
  
  Entry fee will be: $100 for 9-16 wrestlers
  $5.00 for each wrestler over 16 participants
  $10.00 per wrestler for 8 participants or less
  
  Once you have accepted the invitation to participate in this year’s event, a contract will be sent to verify your entry into the tournament. Additional details will be sent in the fall before the tournament.
  
  We are asking that you respond to this invitation as soon as possible because we will only be able to accommodate a certain number of wrestlers. Please respond with your intentions ASAP. This will allow us time to send out a contract if you are able to participate or contact other teams to fill up the pools.
