Panther Duals @ Pickerington North - 12/19
-
goodsportvarsityfan I was referring to CC and Rey they had been great programs for the past few years
-
alaahI agree goodsport, it is somewhat disheartening to see CC, and Reynoldsburg not near the top.
-
USMCdevil05Pick North is tough! They should be in the state duals instead of Marysville and Hilliard Davidson!

1. I wonder why you keep mentioning PN should be ahead of Davidson at the state duals. Davidson isn't going...it is Springboro.USMCdevil05 wrote: Pick North is tough! They should be in the state duals instead of Marysville and Hilliard Davidson!
2. I believe PN is very tough, but I don't see them crushing Marysville, or Davidson, for that matter. All three teams have very solid lineup's but for whatever reason, people can not get beyond the mindset that Marysville only has "3" scorers! The team, at full strength, is loaded!
bear with me here....You are probably basing your opinion on the philosophy of they (PN) crushed the team (PN over GC), that beat the team (GC over HDar) that beat your team (HDar over MV). That is a really interesting way to look at it except for the fact that it BOILS DOWN TO ACTUAL MATCHUPS OF THE TEAMS HEAD TO HEAD! For example: HDar beat MV 34-34 winning by 2nd level criteria. THEN (that same day) HDar beat Springboro by 5 and Marysville beat Springboro by 20+ points because of the MATCH UPS! (Springboro did not fill several weight classes that day.)
This problem will be solved next year when the state dual tournament is implemented! I'm just wish they would have implemented the change this year! -

Hey! My bad, I forgot it was Springboro that was in the State Duals this year! And I do think that Pick North Still beats Marysville and Springboro. I know what "MATCH UPS" are there booty sniffer! I don't think you fully understand yet how tough this Pickerington North team is. Even with your "MATCH UPS" they will still beat Marysville! Im not basing my decision off of this team beat that team, which since they beat this team that means that this other team could beat this team, or since they lost to this team and they beat this team then team 2 will win! Im basing my "OPINION" off of watching this team wrestle yesterday! I wonder why you are so upset that I keep saying Pickerington North is so good? Someone is a little jelous I think!! -
onthelineBooty sniffer? Not sure what that means...(at least not in this case)...match ups are important...aren't they?
Upset? Thought we were just having a discussion?
Jealous? Of an opinion about a High School Sports Team (or any level / team for that matter) that is different than mine. I don't think so.
Glad to hear your not basing your opinion on the this team beat that team which beat the team in the same conference as your team and they finished third three years in a row beating your team by two so our team would win, philosophy. ( I was only wondering if that was your basis...I do it sometimes.)
Point of clarification from my original response to your post: I mistakenly interpreted your post as saying PN would crush MV and HD. I was simply trying to say, IMO, I do not see them crushing those teams. The crushing comment was actually made by taketop91.
Unfortunatley, I don't think central ohio will get to see them in a dual this season so we will never know for sure.
Sorry USMC...my intent is/was not to start an online arguement. I don't feel like I'm upset or jealous. I probably shouldn't have used the caps...I wasn't really shouting with the caps, I was trying to emphasize my opinion that matchups (again, IMO, are important), I can not figure out how to use the bold print font so I capped the statement.
I've seen MV, you've seen PN...correct me if I'm wrong, but you haven't seen MV in a dual this year? -
USMCdevil05No I have not seen Marysville in a dual yet this year. I would love to see Marysville and Pickerington North go head to head. Personaly I still think Pickerington North would win. Would they crush them? No I don't think they would crush them at all, but I do think that they would win by 6 to 10 points.
There needs to be a Division 1 Central District Super Duals tournament in the 1st few weeks of the season! That would be sweet!
The jealous comment was out of line and I appologize.
For the record I am not a fan of Pickerington North, I am at a different school. But I love great wrestling and I give credit where credit is due! -
USMCdevil05And yes Match Ups are very important!
-

onthelineMaybe this problem will be solved next season when OHSAA implements their new Ohio Dual Meet State Championship. http://www.cdwca.org/documents/StateDualTourProposal.pdf
-
USMCdevil05That would be awesome! I know alot of states already do this.

playground legendCouple things. ONE. Marysville and Pick North are both good teams. TWO. Marysville has more than 3 kids, BASS ( 2x district placer) Green(2x district Qualifer) Forrider( JH state champ) Miller( jh state placer) sparks, philphot etc... Yes they may not ALL score BIG points, but they will score. 5 here 9 there stars to add up. Three. If you were surprised by the Pick N. vs TV score your out of the loop. As the line was set at Pick N. -19.5. Four. I hear some people on here talk about the OHIO DUAL MEET STATE CHAMPION SHIP. You do all realize that they( DUAL MEET CHAMP) and not the state TOURNEY TEAM ( the state tourney at the schott) will be recognized as STATE CHAMPS. IN short WHO EVER WINS THE STATE TOURNEY AS WE CURRENTLY HAVE IT WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED BY OHSAA AS THAT YEARS STATE CHAMP........................NOW how great does that sound...............Not so good.

I tried my best to make a point of this in my preview. If only the big 3 show - even if the each get 4 pins - it wouldn't be enough to win the District title. It might get them into the top 5, but not atop the board.
As you mentioned, at full strength, Marysville is the real deal. The are right up there with Pickerington North, Teays Valley and, when everybody returns, Hilliard Davidson. -
Varsityfan32what did pickerington norths lineup look like this weekend ?
-
onthelineHey, I found the "bold button". Until now, I didn't realize us posters had so many options (compared to that pay to post huddle site.)
-
ninjaI would have thought the Pickerington @ West Jefferson dual would have been closer, 47 - 21. West Jeff only won 4 weight classes against P.N. 119 Brahnam, 125 Reichle (pin), 135 Gualtieri (pin), 152 Prather(pin) .

I believe that Marysville is tough and has more than the big 3, but I think Pick North would still beat them in a dual! I do believe that Marysville will win the district title, because they have 3 guys who are more than likely going to win the district title. I think in a DUAL though Pick North would beat them. As far as the dual state tourney, anytime there is room for more high school wrestling then I am all for it! Wether they recognize the dual state champs or the individual state champs! More wrestling means more mat time and that means the better ohio wrestling will get! But personaly I think it would be good for them to recognize the dual state champs and the individual state champs! -
cruiser_96"Choke yourself!" ...love it!

onthelineGoing off subject just a bit but I believe this thread supports my thought. The thought is, freehuddle.com is picking up steam and drawing in more posters (which equates to more info and more fun.) I believe threads like this one, the MV duals, central district rankings and so on and so on...contribute to the increased interest in freehuddle! Heck, I think we even got the first "congrats on 100 wins post" started today!
Each week a steady and increasing flow of results show up. With that comes more posters and great conversation / debate!
Sure, folks are not always going to agree but if we keep it civil...the discussion can be a lot of fun! Heck, I believe I'm finally beginning to understand what the heck Mat Shark is talking about in more than half of his/her post....lol and just kidding Mat Shark, I'm still clueless when it comes to your points! (kidding again)
Also, cruiser is starting to loosen up on the new site, posted his first 12 page editorial located on the central district ranking thread. If you haven't read it, then I suggest you hurry to that thread...it was truly a pleasure to read!
Keep it up folks! Soon we will all completley forget about "the site the shall not be named." -
cruiser_96I heart ontheline!
-
Bigfan85From GC Whitt, Hughes, and Swavely went undefeated. Swavely: Will 9-2, Stamets pin, Nace 15-8, Pizzurro pin, Longwell 6-1. Great job as a team placing fifth with win over HD, congrats to all!
