    2012 DEEP SOUTH BAYOU DUALS
    Hosted by Brusly High School

Carl Maddox Feildhouse (LSU’s indoor track facility)
    Baton Rouge, LA
    Friday December 28th & Saturday December 29th

We still have a couple of openings, and would like to fill them with out of state schools. If you are looking to travel with your team and strive to challenge your wrestlers, then this would be a perfect fit for your program.

The Deep South Bayou Duals are quickly becoming one of the nation’s premier wrestling tournaments! This is possibly the largest (or at least one of the largest) high school dual meet tournaments in the country.

In 2011, we hosted 48 teams, from nine different states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas). Many of the schools, who competed, ended up winning or finishing near the top, at their respective state tournaments. All the results from last season are posted on trackwrestling.com, under 2011 Deep South Bayou Duals.

The format guarantees each team 8 – 10 duals over two days. All teams are separated into 8 pools of 6, and wrestle a round robin on day one. The 1st and 2nd place pool finishers move to the 16 team Championship bracket on day 2. The 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place pool finishers move to four different 8 team brackets. Maddox Feildhouse is a huge SEC indoor track facility, which allows us to wrestle on 16 mats, all in the same building. This promises two intense days of competitive wrestling and we have commitments from multiple college coaches, who will attend to see it first hand. The unique format is set up to ensure that all teams eventually end up matching up against programs of equal strength, from all over the country. It’s a very rare opportunity, to see so many diverse styles in one season, much less one weekend, in one venue, like we have here.

Being that this is held in Baton Rouge, I believe it goes without saying that we offer a first class hospitality room. However, I would like to inform you that one of the biggest hits of our tournament is the complimentary coaches’ social. It is held after the first day of wrestling is completed, in a top notch banquet room at the Mockler Beverage facility. The social features a mouthwatering spread of excellent Cajun Cuisine, which you can’t get anywhere, but South Louisiana. Mockler Beverage is only a few miles from the tournament venue; however, to make it easy for everyone to join us, we offer a transportation service. This is convenient for coaches who do not have their personal vehicles or others who would prefer to optimize our services.

I do realize that travelling out of state can prove to be rather expensive, so we have attempted to reduce some of the financial burden. The entry fee is only $250 per team and we have worked out some really solid reduced rates with many local hotels.

If you are interested in possibly attending The 2012 Deep South Bayou Duals, please contact me via email or phone. I will add you to my email list and send you a tournament flier, hotel information, and more. I would also be happy to answer any other questions, or concerns that you may have.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
