Can't you let the kid bask in glory for at least 24 hours before bashing him? It isn't the toughest district, but the kid lost his first match and fought all day Saturday toget to a placement match. He's a sophomore wrestling at the state tournament. That's a pretty impressive feat. Congrats to him along with every other kid that qualified!herbie;1095881 wrote:how bout this call 2 and out at states -
PIRATEMATFANYeah, a bit. 2 runner ups and 2 alternates that should have gotten there.

Yeah, but nobody gave the kid credit at districts either. He's good when he keeps his head up. I wonder why kids sometimes bash themselves. Probably because they read this stuff online and see other people doing it to them.herbie;1095881 wrote:how bout this call 2 and out at states -
kennypowersWest Jeff finished in 4th place in a rebuilding year. Don't be so jealous Herbie.
126 wasn't even the best weight class. 138 and 170 were pretty solid I'd say.
District was down (senior heavy last year?) but was young this year, so next season may be different. There were quite a few returning state qualifiers that didn't make it out. Regoli, Crosier, Webster, Moody (2X placer), Baldridge, Hodge, Gibson, Zang just to name a few -
charles feuchtGood luck Mr Fulton. You have a ticket to the Schott. Super job !!!!!! Good luck to all the West Jeff wrestlers. Herbie Hancock won a grammy. You must have his last name Mr Hancock.

If all three boys place, it may be possible for ready to finish top ten in the state. Ill reckon its been a few years since that has happened.pins2win;1097790 wrote:Good Job Bishop Ready!! herbieHeard about west jeffs 132 fulton, nice sportsmanship takes ankle band off shoves it in referee chest, smacks kids hand that just pinned him, then leaves mat one of the coaches have to bring him back to shake kids hand, then runs his mouth to referee, then costs west jeff team point and gets ejected . Good kid Now theres a kid I would want on my team. Called it 2 and out and deserves to be.

Can they still win the team title with Scott 2-out and Smith 1-2 ?Westie101;1097829 wrote:If all three boys place, it may be possible for ready to finish top ten in the state. Ill reckon its been a few years since that has happened. -

Classy post. Dalton Scott and Bobby Smith are both super hard workers and good kids. BTW He said they could be top ten not win the team title this year. I notice no mention of Patch Garren making the semis. These guys are all sophmores so the future looks pretty bright for the Silver Knights.TrailerPark;1103106 wrote:Can they still win the team title with Scott 2-out and Smith 1-2 ? -

classy response = classy response.....see how that works?
Sack.....why so defensive? Just asking a question. I was hoping one of them made the finals. Was looking forward to seeing what pretty silky shirt your bf would wear in a finals match. -
Knight riderBoth programs have a long history of excellence in competition and developing young men, so lets not be petty an start calling out these young men to satisfy our own adult egos. Everyone of these kids mentioned here are just soph. they make mistakes. They will learn from them in life, and on the mat. Good luck to both Ready, and West Jeff. David Scott

1. Coach Van Gundy is not really my type, athough I do like the silky shirts.
2. I am not affiliated with the Ready program, and in fact have friends within the Ready and West Jeff Program.
3. I don't know Herbie, or condone his bashing Fulton (or any high school kid for that matter). I was impressed by both Fultons at the events we were at with West Jefferson.
4. The point is, all of these kids should be honored for their hard work and accomplishment not bashed by douchebag internet tough guys with an axe to grind.

headlock165TrailerPark,
First of all, it's unfortunate you don't like my wardrobe. Obviously, my silky shirts have rubbed you the wrong way. For the record, I was impressed with West Jeff wrestlers and have always been impressed with what the program has been able to accomplish. I'm not sure where all the Ready/WJ animosity stems from but it's comical, at best. The last time I checked, we (as in Ready) have a long way to go before we accomplish anything near what WJ (or many other successful programs) have been able to accomplish over the years. If your beef is with me, I would be more than happy to discuss any issues you have in person. Call my cell (264-1690) or shoot me a pm and I'll make time to discuss things in an adult like manner. I have no idea who Herbie is or if they're even affiliated with Ready but the bashing of kids needs to stop on both ends. Build the kids up instead of bashing them while they're down. TrailerPark, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Chance Van Gundy -
6 minutesTrailerPark,
First of all, I'm 6 minutes and "not" Herbie(would never ever go by Herbie) so get that straight please! I'm not afraid to let anyone on this forum know who I am or who I root for......I respect any kid that makes the state tournament and wouldn't go on here to bash them...I have never got on here and bashed any one individual kid!! I do have some thoughts about certain coaches but still have never bashed them either.I get on here(which I hardly did this year) and actually talk good about certain kids from other teams that I thought were someone to look out for and I have posted good things on whom I do root for which is Bishop Ready!! I have never heard anything but good things from the coaching staff at Bishop Ready about the West Jeff kids, such as some of them being in the youth program from which those coaches use to coach for, open mats in which a few would come to Ready for, some of them were even taught(as far as school goes) by one of the coaches...I do know that the coaches at Ready have decent relationships with some of the parents at West Jeff, so as Headlock said,"I have no idea who Herbie is!" ..I do wish the bashing would stop because it's not fair to bash kids who bust their ass to get where the handful of wrestlers from Ready and West Jeff got this year...I honestly thought that the West Jeff kids(for what they went through with the coaching change in mid season) wrestled GREAT!! Good Luck to both schools next season and for Dirty Scramble.....you can still look up to me!
Clancy VanGundy "never" Herbie!!
