    FOURTH ANNUAL MOAC CHALLENGE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

    Youth and Junior High Wrestlers from the MOAC Schools Challenge the Best of the Rest!
    This tournament is an OhioWrestler.com Top 20 List rankings event.
    Age Groups: Division 1: 6 yrs. & under Division 2: 7 & 8 yrs. old Division 3: 9 & 10 yrs. old Division 4: 11 & 12 yrs. old
    Division 5: Junior High (Grades 7 & 8) A 12 year old 7th grade wrestler may be entered in either Division 4 or 5
    Weight classes will be determined the day of the tournament (no more than 10% difference without parental permission).
    Start Times: Divisions 1, 2, and 3: 9:30 AM ***** Divisions 4 and 5: 12:00 noon
    Weigh-ins: (1) Saturday, 2/11, 2 to 4 PM (all divisions) (2) Sunday, 2/12, 7 to 8 AM (all divisions)
    (3) Sunday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM (Divisions 4 and 5 only)
    REGISTRATION: USE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING METHODS:
    (1) Online ($15) (PREFERRED!): Click on the link for the secure online registration form at
    http://www.CardingtonWrestling.com. On-line registration closes at midnight EST on Friday, February 10.
    (2) Mail In ($15): Fill out a registration form COMPLETELY and mail it to Larry Smith at 332 East Main Street, Cardington, OH
    43315-1120. Make checks out to MOAC WRESTLING COACHES SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Mail-in registration MUST be
    received by Friday, February 10! Your entry will be acknowledged by E-mail if you include an E-mail address on the form.
    (3) Walk In ($20): Fill out a registration form (attached) COMPLETELY and pay $20 cash or check at weigh-in.
    PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE TOURNAMENT SITE WITH YOUR FORM ALREADY COMPLETELY FILLED OUT AND YOUR
    CHECK OR CASH READY TO PAY YOUR ENTRY FEE. BRING EXACT CHANGE IF PAYING CASH!

    COACHES may arrange to send weights by E-mail (NO PHONE CALLS!) to Larry Smith at [email protected]
    for wrestlers on their team or club – PRE-REGISTERED WRESTLERS ONLY! All weights must be received NO LATER
    THAN 5:00 PM Friday, February 10. PARENTS: If your coach has not arranged with us for a weigh-in at your site, your
    wrestler MUST come to one of the weigh-ins at Cardington-Lincoln H.S.
    THE MOAC WRESTLING COACHES SCHOLARSHIP FUND IS A PUBLIC CHARITY UNDER SECTION 501(c)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE AND
    EXISTS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RAISING FUNDS TO AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO WRESTLERS FROM MOAC SCHOOLS. THIS TOURNAMENT IS
    A FUND-RAISER FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND. ADMISSION AND ENTRY FEES ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE, BUT ANY CONTRIBUTION YOU MAKE TO
    THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND IS EXEMPT FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAX. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND AND
    WANT A RECEIPT FOR YOUR TAX RECORDS, PLEASE CONTACT TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR AND FUND MANAGER LARRY SMITH.
    Saturday is the day of Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship tournament. If you come to the Saturday weigh-in,
    inform the ticket seller that you are there to register and weigh in for the MOAC CHALLENGE.
    The tournament will be run on SIX MATS WITH CERTIFIED OFFICIALS and will run quickly.
    Match Length: Three one-minute periods (all divisions).
    Rules: Modified High School Rules: Start on your feet each period and after out of bounds.
    Overtime: Same as old high school overtime: One minute sudden death starting from neutral; if neither wrestler scores, end the
    match with a 30-second sudden death period from referee’s position, first score picks up or down or flip disk if no score.
    Tech fall: declared when one wrestler is ahead by 10 or more points.
    Brackets: Round robin, five or six wrestlers per bracket as much as possible. Larger weight classes may be split into two brackets.
    *Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or split weight classes.
    *Proof of age must be shown if a wrestler’s age or grade is challenged (birth certificate or photo ID)
    Awards: Large custom medals to the top 3 wrestlers in each weight class.
    Concessions: Food served all day (great menu, including breakfast). T-shirts and wrestling gear will also be for sale.
    Admission: $3 Adults, $2 Students, $5 Family.
