The winner of the Love/Riggs match will probably get 4rth barring upsets. The loser of that match because of the crossover would have to beat most likely loser of Funk/Fox semi which I woudn't see happening. This is one of toughest weights at sectional.

Lancaster, Reynoldsburg, and Pick North have all seen toughter competition. Lancaster and Pick North were at Medina, Solon, etc. I believe Reynoldsburg went to North Canton and Oregon Clay, so to say that Bradley has wrestled better comp is inaccurate. As far as Higura I'm reserving judgement. He has upwards of 11 loses this year, he didn't place at the top gun tourney, and he has beaten one kid (Miller). That is certainly a quality win, but I don't buy the Coffman kid as one of the better kids in the area. Does anybody even know if he legitly beat the kid, or did he catch him? He may very well stomp through this sectional, but I need a wider test sample to pull from. Must be the science nerd in me.
Higuera beat the coffman 160 like 14-1 so I wouldn't say he caught him. It's taken him a while to get his groove back but is hitting on all cyclinders and everything he learned from Lou Demas is finally clicking. I'd have to say he's one of the funnest kids to watch at the moment, but we'll see it's go time and I wish the best to all competing this weekend!

I think Mut was reffering to the win over miller and not the coffman wrestler

Baumspage.com has a link to each sectional, the one for the Watkins sectional takes you to the school site. I can't post the link from my iPad or I'd put it here. It is posted on the results rolling in thread.

Heard he didn't make weight and his teammate Dalton Tullius was injured in his final at 145. Prayers go out to that young man and his family.

No devil Cruiser is actually "The Man" but then we all knew that. Noticed after my post Cruiser had started a thread few minutes before. Also @195 Kitchen 2-1 dec over Reed, close match!

BobcatRaider good call on this young man. finished as the alternate but wrestled his heart out and lost to kid that won weight and other finished third. He almost pinned eventual winner in first match only to lose 16-13 in what may have been most entertaing match today. This kid will be heard from next year.

Didn't even weigh in.....was not even at the Watkins site.....was sick in bed all day with a fever. Boswell was at the ER last night at midnight.....diagnosed with some sort a staph. Unbelievable way to end a career!

Just add it to the incredible day the CW team had. Of course, after the Boswell news I think everyone was in shock. 126 #2 seed Nick Hammond was in control of his semi match against eventual champ Barnhart-Sullivan....leading 7-2 in the 2nd period.....when he got caught with a head and arm. Was there for a LONG time. Ref finally called the pin.....IMO it was VERY controversial. From the view of MANY, he was not pinned. However, that was the call.......sucxx right?......but time to move on. So Hammond had to come right back in the "go to" match against Holter (Watkins) who he had pinned in the Watkins Tourney 2 weeks prior. The freshman wrestled like he was in a fog.....ended up getting pinned......and no district advancement. 126 was crazy all day long....#1 seed Driscoll had to score a takedown with 2 seconds left in the match to win his "go to" bout against the Pick N kid. Driscoll was down big in the 3rd period before making his late charge.

Then to top things off, at 145, Dalton Tullius was trying to come back at the very end of the season (from knee surgery) for the 2nd consecutive year. He looked really good all day.....soundly defeating DeLuse in the semis.....and ended up in the final against Driscoll (Bradley). Tullius dominated the first period....taking Driscoll to his back.....and rode him out in the first period to lead 5-0. Midway through the second period Driscoll scored a takedown and was then able to lock up a cradle. Tullius fought it.....and as the period wound down, he was clawing at his neck. The ref called the pin with 6 sec remaining. However, Tullius didn't move.....was choked out and lay there unconscious!! After being revived by the medical staff, it was decided to call the squad. The doctor was concerned about his neck and wanted to make sure all bases were covered.....when in doubt, call the squad.....no brainer right? So he was sent to Children's Hospital.....still have not heard anything at this time.

So tough day for the Indians....understatement of their season!! I guess that's wrestling. And that's why you have to bring it every time....take a look...lots of top seeds around the state struggled this weekend. Nothing is guaranteed......district advancement should be cherished and appreciated.....not assumed.

IMO Hammond was not pinned... poor kid... but has 3 successful years ahead of him, watched this kid wrestle since his youth days, real tough kid has a bright future, also a great family! ... dad4 if you could make sure to post an update of Dalton that would be awesome hope hes okay, i know his mom was really unhappy about him wrestling after that knee surgery cant imagine has she feels now, my prayers go out to him and his family God Bless
  • Cthelites
Wow Dad4 thnx for the info.
    Prayers to the Tullius family.
Im also glad to hear the rumour on Boswell not makng weight not true. Sux that he is sick tho.
  • yomomma
Dad4 - were you at this sectional - because I was and you seem to be pretty dramatic - Tullius WAS moving his legs and was NOT unconscious - not sure where your view was from but I think his neck got cranked on a little to hard and hopefully he will be fine.

How do you choke a kid out with a cradle?
  • Dirtyscramble
Connor Driscoll is a really strong kid, and a cradle guy all the way, when you cradle a kid, your bicep and gonna be pressed chard against one side of the neck and the body with be pressed are to the other, cutting of blood to his brain, which will then knock him out, i'm not a doctor but i have been put to sleep in a cradle and not just when i was a baby ;)
  • maddog140
Well assuming both your head and shoulders are wider then your neck it hard to see how the other side of the neck would be flush with the opponents body. I know connor and yes the kid is very strong. After thinking about it I guess if the back of the head was being raised putting your chin on your chest that could cut off air flow. I dont know, just I've been put in many a cradle by one of the best, Mike Feeney, and have never been close to passing out but I guess anythings possible. I hope the kid is alright and able to make it back for districts!
