had trouble getting my editor program to work at home so had to wait to post until I got in to work this morning. -
Dad4SportsJust curious.....Gusan (Walnut Ridge) is shown at 32-0. He lost in the City League Championships last Sat.....Illegal slam. Are all the records provided by the individual coaches?
-
bribacker51Are these right if u look at 132 the top seed has a losing record I think it must be a mistake.

Is the top seed required to take the top line in the bracket? Thompson would be the #1 seed there.....maybe the London coach chose the bottom line? Just guessing.....bribacker51;1087420 wrote:Are these right if u look at 132 the top seed has a losing record I think it must be a mistake. -

Yes, the teams coach submits records. The entry window to enter the information opened on 1-29, so maybe he entered records early?Dad4Sports;1087398 wrote:Just curious.....Gusan (Walnut Ridge) is shown at 32-0. ksig489Walnut Ridge records were entered the day of the seeding meeting, it must have been a typo.
Thompson from London is the #1 at 132...no one is required to take a certain line. The coach could have picked line 5 if he wanted (unless there was a bye there). It is just generally accepted that #1 goes on line 1, not a rule. -
bribacker51Ok thanks dont know why oh well.

I was bumping on that thing for 10 min trying to find it lol!!!! thnx -
Westie101Does a DQ really mean anything? I don't think the one loss on his record is going to make a difference.

After this weekend, all the records go away!Westie101;1088934 wrote:Does a DQ really mean anything? I don't think the one loss on his record is going to make a difference. -
Dad4Sports
No....absolutely no difference at all. But when a state-ranked wrestler loses in a VERY controversial manner like Gusan did, it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb when you see the brackets showing him as still undefeated.Westie101;1088934 wrote:Does a DQ really mean anything? Jose Parsons would be undefeated right now but he had to take an injury default because he needed stiches.Even though he lost that match he was still in the finals because of pool record. He never stepped on the mat for his finals match (Because he was at the hospital)but technicaly he lost that match because of forfeit. His record shows 2 losses but since he never stepped on the mat in the finals he should only have 1 loss?? Just curious.Dad4Sports;1088044 wrote:If you take the mat, and are DQ'd during the match....it is a loss on your record -

I know different coaches handle this differently. I'm not 100% sure, but I think technically when you step on the scale for a tournament, any match you are not able to go, you receive a forfeit. I seem to remember some controversy years ago when Chris Phillips was forced to forfeit at Iron Man after being injured. There was plenty of discussion after the fact surrounding his record......maybe someone can recall the exact details.pickupthepace;1089242 wrote:Jose Parsons would be undefeated right now but he had to take an injury default because he needed stiches.Even though he lost that match he was still in the finals because of pool record. He never stepped on the mat for his finals match (Because he was at the hospital)but technicaly he lost that match because of forfeit. Shoot and SprawlGreat tournament. Close team race . River Valley led going into the finals, but Licking Valley really rose to the occasion and over-took the viking lead in the last two weight classes. Great day of wrestling, congrats to the Licking Valley team on their sectional championship.
