    I said by 5 but 7 is even better. Brown is 2nd best in central ohio in my opinion.

    You know, amazingly enough, it's not THAT bad. The kids are listening and learning, they are giving us the two things we ask for (a positive attitude a good effort) and they are getting better.

    Our biggest issues are #1) sticking it out. We have 2.5 seniors and 1.5 juniors. The rest (about 15 or 17) are freshmen and sophomore. #2) is from February to November. 99.9% of our kids haven't wrestled a one minute go outside those months. When you factor that in with of-the-mat issues with admin, no presence in the high school, etc. it can be tough. But, that's the gig I signed up for. When I see growth, it's all good. When I don't, that's when I scratch my head and wonder is it worth it. (True story: talking about driving through a double and the kid asked me if I liked meatloaf. ...come on, man!?)

    But, to be transparent, the toughest thing is when we open our room for open mats and the 7-11 Lancaster kids show up all summer long; five years ago it was the Canal Winchester kids; around that time it was the Teays Valley kids too. It kind of stinks when our own kids do not take advantage of the open mats, but others do... And them those same kids that put in the extra work are beating us. That when it stinks.

    Hear, hear, booboo! I couldn't agree more. Those boys in Groveport have no idea how fortunate they are to have a coach who cares so much!
