Tough year things I have never went through and hope I don't again as a coach
-
tric118We have had a very rough year at Nelsonville-York started with Bobby Leitwein tearing his ACL last football game of year, then Dakota Mays breaks an ankle jogging in first week of December, Carl Moody gets banged a couple weeks ago and then tonight topped it with 3 minutes left in a our final live go our 106 Conner Hammonds who is in for Mays breaks his Tibia or shin bone. He was taken to Childrens Hosp to get it repaired. What a crazy season this has become. Something good has to come out of it. Injuries are a part of it but man I have never had anything like this in 17 years. So at this point Nelsonville-York will be lucky to win a dual in our league at this rate. This was a very tough and nasty injury like the Joe Theisman injury. The kid is a freshman who will be back next year.

Westie101I'm sorry things are going rough for you guys, but at the worst you will still have Moody, the tough 132, older mays, and coon right? Still a chance to do some damage!
-
GmanSorry to hear coach. Best wishes for the injured especially Hammonds that sounds nasty. Westie just stated my thoughts for remaining season.

tric118Yes we have plenty of great kids and will continue to move forward but toningth was rough. Conner is out 6-8 no surgery so all is good. Thanks and yes Little Mays will be back soon, Mclaughlin, Moody, Dailey, big Mays, Coon and McCune will pick it up. I just hate seeing kids loosing seasons and high school dreams. Thanks guys.

1_beastTough news to hear Coach! Always hate hearing about injuries. Wow...you have really been hit.....
It's probably Coon's fault for eating all the food.... -
coach1good luck and hope kids get better
-
boobooSounds like a tough year. Injuries do take so much away from hard working, dedicated kids.

USMCdevil2005That stinks coach. Keep your heads up and stay focused on those state titles. A lot of talent on that team and can still place high on the board at the state tournament. Good Luck

Con_AlmaSorry to hear. There's a teaching moment in everything that happens in wrestling. Find it in these unfortunate injuries and share it with your team.

renegadeHang in there. Still a lot of wrestling to go. Things can only get better.
