5th Annual New Year's Brawl (12 yrs. & under), Cardington 12/31/2011

  The fifth annual New Year's Brawl wrestling tournament for wrestlers 12 years old and younger will be held in the Cardington-Lincoln High School gym on Saturday, December 31. This is the day after our varsity dual tournament; we will leave all six mats down from the high school tournament, and we will have enough certified officials and mat crews to man them all.

  This tournament is a qualifier for the Ohio Tournament of Champions.

  Only 16 days left until this tournament. On-line entries are coming in at a pretty good rate, and I have received a few more mail-ins.

  I have not seen any other tournaments advertised for this date. We might be the only one in the area.

  School or club coaches may arrange to conduct weigh-ins for wrestlers in their group, but for PRE-REGISTERED WRESTLERS ONLY. Advance registration closes on Thursday, December 29, and weights for your PRE-REGISTERED WRESTLERS must be E-mailed to [email protected] BEFORE 6 PM on the 29th.

  This will be very well attended. The Cardington club has a lot of kids this year, and I have made arrangements with several other club coaches to allow them to conduct their own weigh-ins and E-mail the weights for their pre-registered wrestlers.

  I just spoke with John Organiscak. He finally got our flyer posted, and the results from this tournament will also be used in his Top 20 rankings.

  O.K., kids, Christmas is over, and it's time to wrestle! Come to Cardington this Saturday for a tournament that will be run on six full size mats. You may walk in and wrestle Saturday, but if you want to save $5 register on-line instead. On-line registrations close at 10 PM Thursday.
