Possible match up's at pre season all star tournament at Gahanna ?
-
Monkey ManAnybody want to take a crack at this, hard to believe but the season is here
-
cruiser_96Might as well be a dual meet. Groveport Madison vs. DII and DIII.
The shame will be that the Davidson guys won't be able to be involved (again). I guess it's only a shame to unless greedy wrestling folk. For the football fans, it is okay. -
CthelitesI dont see them going as far as they have gone in the past IMO
-
bribacker51How about Smith Ready vs Murdock Dublin I would guess a weight around 120 just to get this thread going I think that would make for a good match what say you?
-
Bitterrunner-upWould Murdock be the pick for first team in DI or would it be Timchenko? They split matches last year with Murdock winning at Medina and Timchenko winning in the match for fifth at The Schott.
-

I was just asking myself that as I did not think about him being back in the Central Ohio areaBitterrunner-up;939188 wrote:Would Murdock be the pick for first team in DI or would it be Timchenko? RussianBearI would think Andrew Torti at 106 and Alex Stinemetz at 220 from Olentangy would both get D1 invites.
-
Shoot and SprawlThere have been some recent weight changes for super 32 that might help in making some projections.
Missed a couple central Ohio guys also. (Fields, Crabtree....) -
SidBribacker51, thank you for posting your listing of possible match ups. But, there are a few upper middles missing. Mickley (HD) 152 Dist. placer, Lybarger (MV) 160 Dist. placer, Bowens (Darby) 160 SQ, Liedecker (TV) 171 SQ and Duffey (WC)171 DQ.
-
knightflyer150In addition to Timchenko @ 120, Orange may have Dawson (1-2 at districts 138/145), Kamba (1-2 at districts 195) and Selbe (DQ 182 down from 215). Or they may not.
Lib should have 4 guys.
OHS should have 5-6 guys. -
Bitterrunner-upI don't think Pickett will be up at 182 either, 170 or even a possible 160 depending on how the weights play out State-wide.
-
bribacker51
I see he is at 170 for super 32 my mistake but I am sure he would be the top pick at whatever wght he goes.Bitterrunner-up;939501 wrote:I don't think Pickett will be up at 182 either, 170 or even a possible 160 depending on how the weights play out State-wide. -

I did not put the HD kids in because of football did not think they would be in and the list was off the top of my head I thought I had Liedecker in there dont know how I missed him I just had a chance to see him Friday he is much bigger then 170 now maybe even 195 for this meet if Teays makes football playoffs.Sid;939443 wrote:Bribacker51, thank you for posting your listing of possible match ups. I am sure I missed alot of kids just wanted to get some chatter going and see some posting started. -

Interesting. I'll have to visit the yapster for more insight.Cthelites;939114 wrote:I dont see them going as far as they have gone in the past IMO -
Monkey ManI have a feeling Jake Ryan goes 138, at least for this tournament. I think at 145 u would have to put BoydMville ahead of Hauber CC, might be heavier though. I think it would be hard for DriscollHB, Miller Mville to make 152 since they are both still playing football. I se them at 160 in D1. Luke Flemming would be top 2 heavyweight in D1 OL

wildcats1984When does the selection process start for the all star meet....who makes the selections....
-
iGranbythis is all just off the top of my head, so be nice this is my guess at d1, and im only gonna do weights that im fairly familiar with
106
1.Gutierrez (PN)
2.Sparks (MV)
3.Torti (OL)
Gutierrez is a 2x qualifier and a 1x placer at the state now so i think its a good bet that he'd be 1st, followed by quailifier Sparks and alternate Torti
if sparks were to go 113 id say that wimer (CC) gets the nod in for the 3rd spot
113
...its hard to do this weight, the only 2 names that really come up are Mullucy (coffman) and Chang (reynoldsburg).. Mullucy was a qualifier at 103 and chang was an alternate at 112. Chang being at virtually the same weight makes it hard to say if Mullucy would get put above him, but at the same time, Mullucy was a semi finalist at the district and 1-2 at the state... and to complicate things even more..chang has a win over Mullucy in freestyle (Im not sure if that would have any kind of impact seeing as it was freestyle, but i'm just putting it out there) either way, these guys are both in.. somone help me with a 3rd, ya digg? (possibilty of spearman being here..if so..hes #1..but he was a huge 103, so im gonna guess 120)
120
1.Murdock (coffman)
2.Spearman (Lancaster)
3.Timchenko (Olenta....Massi....whatever)
This weight is another twister... Murdock is a 2x placer and 1x alternate (not in that order, of course) Timchenko is also a 2x placer.. and they both have wins over eachother... Murdock was district champ at darby while Timchenko took a 3rd i believe at a different district (one that isnt as cool as darby) but then the following week, Timchenko was 5th at the state while murdock took home 6th..some months prior murdock snagged 3rd at medina while timchenko took home 4th, And spearman was district champ at 103 and a state 6th.. 3 very solid Guys to say the least... and im guessing that timchenko is in fact at orange.. otherwise, id put straughter (RB) or Penzone (LiB) for 3rd
138
1. Forrider (MV)
2. Ryan (Lib)
3. McDougle (GL)
This weight is going so be siick come the post season!!!! Youve got Forrider only a Junior, District runner up and Champ, State 7th and 6th He's your clear #1 here, now.. unless I'm mistaken, i dont think liberty had anyone in the all-star meet last season? some coaches just dont put their kids in..hey..to each their own, but if he is here, Ryan is your #2. Now, should Ryan not be present, slide McDougle to 2nd and put Nace (TV) in 3rd
....that all i gots... for now :0 -

Gotta go with the defending CENT DISTRICT CHAMP Murdock as the #1Bitterrunner-up;939188 wrote:Would Murdock be the pick for first team in DI or would it be Timchenko? They split matches last year with Murdock winning at Medina and Timchenko winning in the match for fifth at The Schott. -
Dad4SportsI don't see Boswell (CW) that light....at least this early. But he took care of both Nace (TV) and Hauber (CC) last season so he should be able to grab one of the D1 spots at 138/145 if need be. He was a D2 District champion, but unfortunately got VERY sick the next week and went two and out at the Schott (was taken straight to the hospital after the 2nd loss).

double arm barsThe spots for DI should be fairly competitive this year as there are many new teams moving up with wrestlers that have criteria from DII.
Should be interesting and I'm sure many heated discussions and battles will take place at the meeting. Enjoy! -
PopKatNot many Columbus City wrestlers in the mix....I have got to put Mifflin Junior Alec Mills in the mix at 138 or 145. Tough wrestler with a ton of potential.
