Any truth to the rumor that the St Charles Heavy Weight being too afraid to wrestle Winn?

    Who knows...

Imagine if the match went down and Winn was pinned... TIE!!!!!!!!

Actually, Orange would win through criteria, but goodness that would have made for some excitement!

Oooooooh, and the plot thickens! The "pin" was on the edge, directly in front of the Orange coaches and they are SCREAMING that no back points should be counted due to being out of bounds, let alone looking for the fall. Then, as if to say, "Oh Yeah???" the ref calls the fall right on the edge! Nicola goes ape! In waht can only be referred to as the second-coming of Bishop Ready, circa 07, he jumps onto his chair and then LEAPS off screaming obscenities towards the mat (because WE ALL know a coach would never yell TOWARDS an official.)

However, the ref takes the yelling personal and deducts a team point! WHAT!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! OOOOOOH!!!!! The Cardinals bring home the 'W' 35-34.

But it did NOT happen that way. Oh well. Great job both teams

    Lovely, Cruiser. Lovely.

No varsity heavyweight weighed in the the Cardinals. It was a good win for our young team, but we have a lot of work to do.

I remember this dual. It began at 103. I believe that I have the entire dual recorded. Perhaps if "Inside the Circle"'s website could handle that much video, I could post it there so that your curiosity could finally be satisfied.
As a side note, that season's Olentangy Orange team had a 13-1 dual record, which remains a school best. That season's squad is also the only one in OOHS history to have won their OCC division.

    That was a nice squad.

Jon Edwards , who was later a SQ at River Valley, is wrestling at IU.

Artem Timchenko, a state runner-up last season, is wrestling at Lehigh

Josh Toprani, a later SQ, is lifting pretty girls up as a cheerleader at Bowling Green

and Josh Winn is starting at tackle for a very good Mount Union football team.

In addition to a lot of good quality college students and working men!

We talk a lot about leadership in sport, so here is a stat...out of the 14 wrestlers competing that day, nine of them were eventually high school wrestling captains. That is a telling sign of a solid team.
