Marysville Dual Tournament Dec 12, 2009
-
onthelineTeams are:
Marysville
Harrison
Springboro
Darby
Davidson
Scioto
M. Harding
Archbishop Hoban
Canal Winchester
Mt. Vernon
Should be some good duals! Marysville and Springboro both heading to the D1 State Duals. Davidson will probably be missing several wrestler's due to the football team. (Good Luck Davidson Football, 0 - 0 at the half)
Harrison should be loaded this year and Darby / Mt. Vernon are always tough. -
onthelineHarrison went 4-1 at their tournament yesterday. Sounds like they rolled through Miamisburg, Vandilia Butler, Hamilton and East Central before hitting a brick wall in Wadsworth.
Springboro finished fourth at the Moeller Duals losing to Mason in pool wrestling and Fairfield in the placement match.
Mt. Vernon finished second at their Wazie tournament behind a STRONG West Jeff team. -

Also, on another site Matside posted: Matside will be at Central Ohio dual for their annual coverage of the event for their Central Ohio TV wrestling fan audience. We do need a color commentator who knows the high school scene to help Bob with this shoot. Matside is all volunteer public access TV process. Send email to Contact List on the Matside web site if interested.

I would assume this offer would be open to freehuddle posters as well. -
Dad4SportsAnyone know how the teams will be divided and what teams will end up in each pool?

Cruiser, I will buy your ticket if you come!
Local paper listed tenative pools.
- Marysville, Darby, Harrison, Mount Vernon, Canal Winchester
- Davidson, Springboro, Harding, Hoban and Scioto. -
cruiser_96How many of Davidson's wrestlers will be out due to that FANTASTIC display of gridiron tactics a week ago???
Proud Central Ohio fan! Go Cats!!!
Marysville seems to have stacked some tough matches against themselves if these pools stick. I don't know much about Harrison but the other teams all have 3 or 4 wrestlers that will push the Monarchs for 6 minutes. I don't think any of them can overcome the depth of Marysville, but then again, that's why we wrestle the matches.
ontheline...stay tuned... -
warrior45Will marysville have a full lineup? They ff two weight classes to Lakota West at eye of the tiger. Line up for this week?
-
Dad4SportsOntheline....how about a link to the newspaper article?
This line is copied from the tournament info sheet:
"There will be a short seeding meeting to place teams in pools starting at 8 a.m."
So any pools that have been announced are probably VERY tentative -

Paper said tenative....just as I said in my post. You could google The Marysville Journal Tribune and search for a link to the article. I read it the old fashion way....hard copy.Dad4Sports wrote: Ontheline....how about a link to the newspaper article.....

cruiser_96Craziest tournament this year. Darby BEATS Marysville, but, then again, loses to Springboro who, OBTW, lost to Scioto!!! And Marysville BEAT Springboro!!!
As my good buddy Cliff Clavin once said... "What's up with that???"
I know some teams had some issues with guys being out, but that non-transitive property occurence is just whacky!
Great tournament though... I enjoyed the wrestling. -

Matchups, matchups, matchups......
Nice job by Canal Winchester hanging in there with some of the big boys. Nathan Pressley (285) led the way with 5 wins (4 pins) on the day. The Indians had four wrestlers record 4 wins: Brady Hutchins (125 – 4 pins), Nick Brady (112), Dalton Tullius (130) and Jordan Bellomy (160).
Cincinnati Harrison was dominant....would have loved to see them match up with Marysville in the finals....IMO, the Monarchs matched up much better than Darby did
Darby and Marysville tied at 34 in pool action....Darby taking the win by criteria
Marysville's Jake McCombs (125) takes the MVP award.... -

Dad4SportsI guess Akron Archbisop Hoban defeated Marion Harding in the 9th place result:
45-27 so place them 9th, and Marion Harding last -
CthelitesDarby did beat Springboro but got beat down by Harrison.
Marysville may have matched up better against Harrison but they didn't earn the right to wrestle them.
Don't take away Darby's impressive come from behind victory against Marysville!(they had enough wrestlers taken from them from the split!)
Congrats to Darby on a great 2nd place finish and congrats to coach Moody on a great start in your coaching career! -

Don't see anywhere where I took anything away from Darby's win. Dual events are all about the match-ups. All I said is that Marysville would have matched up better with Harrison. That's just my opinion. I don't think it would have made any difference though....Harrison was dominant in its 5 blow-out wins. That team is loaded. It makes you wonder how good Wadsworth is....Wadsworth took Harrison apart in easily defeating them 2 weeks ago!Cthelites wrote: Darby did beat Springboro but got beat down by Harrison.

I don't think it would have mattered either. Harrison was stacked thruout their line up.Dad4Sports wrote:
