For Westland, I'll try... And seriously, my memory is VERY sketchy... (ps: one thing is for sure... I'm not very good at predictions!!!)

103: Spearman over Wimer and then Straughter (?) over Transue (?) (maybe Shaut???)
112: Herrera and Chang were in the finals, can't remember who won though.
119: Strope over Messer (MF), Mitchell (GM over Richeson (DS) 5ML
125: Davis over Haslam in a match that did not dissapoint the fans, Varazashvili was in the third place match against someone.
130: Nicholson over Ouzts, and then Gundling took on Trocchio (DS) for third. I'm pretty sure about that 3rd place final.
135: Reynolds over Alger and then Hauber over Dawson
140: Jones over Hardy and ... ... ... no clue.
145: Toprani over Lopez (DJ) and I think Funk over Clinkscales.
152: Hysell over Moore (OO) and Harness (DJ) and Beatty. Not sure on the 3rd place finish though.
160: Pickett over Brown and I'm pretty sure Patrick won by FF. Not sure who it was over though.
171: Myers over Mayberry (WK) and I'm pretty sure Duffy (WC) made it.
189: King (WL) over Bressman and Reed over Kamba
215: King (DS) over Dotson (GM) and Selbe (OO) wrestled somebody for third but not sure who won.
285: Miller (L) over McNabb (WC) and Cousins against most likely Akutsu (DS) for third.

    Hopefully that helps. I tried.

You guys are selling Ben Watson short at 103.
  • bw133
I'm gonna say reynolds over Riley at 130.
  • cruiser_96
Put them at 135. And we have two matches prior to that. Friday comes before Saturday... Even in the dictionary!
  • bw133
Yikes... My mind is in my homework
  • cruiser_96
Then I will allow such a mistake. But do not make such a mistake on the homework. You don't get graded on the Chatter!!!

"Battle of talented juniors b/n Leidecker (T Valley) and Walker (Springboro) in the top quarter, I'll take Leidecker there and then against Montgomery (Mt Vernon) to hit the final. Looking down low, I'll take Newburg (northmont) over Muncrief (Dublin Coffman) and Myers (Dublin Jerome) to hit final. Go to matches with Montgomery over Muncrief and Walker over Myers.
    *Leidecker, Newburg; Montgomery, Walker"

But I disagree completely and have to agree with "The Russell Report"

Liedecker loses to Walker and Newburg cleans the bottom half up easily.
    1. Newburg
    2. Walker
    3. Liedecker (but, he better watch out for Myers)
    4. Mongomery (he better watch out for Myers as well)

Blasted! Some of the wrestlers only have first names and some of the schools are cut in half. You'd better be on top of your Hilliards and Olentangys (or would this be Olentangies???).

Let me guess, the names and schools in question are mostly from the westland sectional? :p
  • cruiser_96
That would be correct concerning the wrestlers' names.

The schools are listed according to it's location then the school name. Things can get lengthy that way.
  • Sid
I really missed something. What happended to Brown (Gahanna) 189? By the way, and I'll be the first to coin this, I liked the "Russell Report".
  • GettinItDone
Brown tore his acl during the canal Winchester match.. Needed surgery

Here is Bucksman's take on the district tourney:

    103
Mullucey (Coffman) clears a super weak top side - wins over Straughter (Reyn) over Watson (Centerville) along the way. Sparks (Marysville) on the bottom with wins over Krakos (Frank Hts) and Spearman (Lancaster) along the way. Krakos over Watson in a go to, and Spearman winning his.
    *Mullucey, Sparks; Krakos, Spearman

    112
The word weak does this weight minimal justice, though the Lorain district is also less than desirable in this class. I like Branham (Miamisburg) to clear the top half with wins over Penzone (O Liberty) and Davis (H Davidson). Murdock (Coffman) does the same down low with wins over Ho (Northmont) and Herrera (Westerville North). I'll take Davis in his go to and Penzone over Herrera in the other.
    *Branham, Murdock; Davis, Penzone

    119
Pretty solid weight class with some depth here. Not that a state placement kid will be left at home, but a top 16 type might be. DiSabato (H Davidson) clears the top with wins over Puska (Edgewood) and Hunter (Pick Central). Strope (Lancaster) over McCurdy (D Hayes) and Longwell (H Darby) over Davis (Sidney) in the lower quarters, Strope winning the semi. Go to's with Hunter over Davis and Longwell over Puska.
    *DiSabato, Strope; Hunter, Longwell

    125
I like Stevens (Beavercreek) to clear the top half with wins over Davis (Lancaster) and Boone (O Liberty). I'll take Cochran (Troy) down low iwth wins over Haslam (Westland) and Hoffman (H Davidson). Go to matches with Boone over Haslam and Davis over Hoffman.
    *Stevens, Cochran; Boone, Davis

    130
I like Durso (Springboro) to clear the top half with wins over Nace (Teays Valley) and Nicholson (Dublin Jerome). Down low, the pick is Forrider (Marysville) over Ryan (O Liberty) first round and then McDougle (Gahanna) in the semi, McDougle over Ouzts (W North) in a quarter. Go to matches being McDougle over Nace and Nicholson over Ouzts.
    *Durso, Forrider; Nicholson, McDougle

    135
Michael (O Liberty) over Alger (W North) and Shivener (Springboro) over Hauber (GCCC) top quarters. Riley (Mt Vernon) over McDougle (Gahanna) and Reynolds (Groveport) over Hinze (P North) lower quarters. Shivener and Riley in the final with go to matches of Michael v McDougle (pick: Michael) and reynolds over Alger.
    *Shivener, Riley; Michael, Reynolds

    140
Top quarters of Howes (P North) over Jones (Marion Franklin) and Willis (Beavercreek) over Gill (H Davidson). Down low, looking at Thoman (Springboro) over Boyd (Marysville) and Luft (T Valley) over Hardy (GCCC). Semifinal winners of Willis and Luft. Go to matches with Howes over Hardy and Jones over Thoman.
    *Willis, Luft; Howes, Jones

    145
This weight is super soft beyond the top two. Delande (H Davidson) and Snyder (O Liberty) as the finalists, with the other two qualifiers coming from semi losers - Spangler (Sidney) and Toprani (O Orange)

    152
Kind of a logjam in this weight class, not necessarily of high/state-level talent - but still a logjam. I like Miller (Marysville) to hit the top semi. I'll take Corba (Beavercreek) to clear the top half with a quarterfinal win over Kowaleski (Grove City) and semi win over Miller. Bottom quarters being Thomas (O Liberty) over Greer (Northmont) and Mickley (H Davidson) over Moore (O Orange), Mickley clearing the half. Go to match outcomes of Miller over Greer and Kowaleski over Thomas.
    *Corba, Mickley; Miller, Kowaleski

    160
Pickett (GCCC) is my pick in the top half of the draw with wins over Lybarger (Mt Vernon), Hoff (Northmont), and Hughes (Grove City). Lower half quarters of Bowens (H Darby) over Kaczkwoski (O Liberty) and Brown (W Central) over Moore (Edgewood). Bowens to the final. Go to matches of Hughes over Kaczkowski and Brown over Hoff.
    *Pickett, Bowens; Hughes, Brown

    171
Battle of talented juniors b/n Leidecker (T Valley) and Walker (Springboro) in the top quarter, I'll take Leidecker there and then against Montgomery (Mt Vernon) to hit the final. Looking down low, I'll take Newburg (northmont) over Muncrief (Dublin Coffman) and Myers (Dublin Jerome) to hit final. Go to matches with Montgomery over Muncrief and Walker over Myers.
    *Leidecker, Newburg; Montgomery, Walker

    189
This weight class is god awful, it could be the worst district weight that is not 103 pounds in big-school (I'm not kidding) statewide -- minimal depth, zero anchors. Can it give two district spots to Lorain, please?
    Finalists: Carman (Centerville), Winkler (Northmont)
consi qualifiers: Bressman (W Kilbourne), Fry (Mt Vernon)

    215
This one isn't exactly strong either, but it's slightly better. I like Jackson (Springboro) in the top half of the draw with wins over Sanders (St. Charles) and King (Dublin Scioto). I'll take Odierno (New Albany) over Nye (Springfield) in a semi, Nye over Knoch (H Davidson) in a quarter. Looking for go to matches - let's take Knoch over King with Nye over Sanders.
    *Jackson, Odierno; Knoch, Nye

    285
On the other hand, this is a rather deep group at HVY. Elflein (P North) over Reynard (Grove City) and El-Geroushi (H Darby) over Miller (Lancaster) in top quarters. Lower half quarters with Fleming (O Liberty) over McNabb (W Central) first round and Wright (Mt Vernon) in the quarter, along with Rose (Centerville) over Gusan (Walnut Ridge). Semis: El-Geroushi over Elflein and Rose over Fleming. Go to's of Elflein over Kight, Fleming over Reynard.
    *El-Geroushi, Rose; Elflein, Fleming
