Firestone District Prediction Contest

  It's getting close, watch the sectionals this week!!
  
  The rules of this contest are this:
  Predict the order of each weight class in this district
  
  Point value are the same as in Columbus
  1st-16
  2nd-12
  3rd 9
  4th-7
  5th-5
  6th-3
  
  You pick your wrestler and if he/she places in the spot you have them in, you get the points. They have to finish in the exact place you project them to finish. If an alternate takes the place of your wrestler, you get his/her points. (it happens every year).
  
  There will be a prize awarded to the winner. A 2011 Firestone District T-Shirt!!
  
  Picks will be accepted at www.ohiowrestlingsite.com and have to posted on the site (no PM's or emails). They can be edited until somewhere close to the time of the start of wrestling. I will lock the site when I leave to go watch (I'll let you know).

  Not even going to bother thinking about it until the brackets come out. Otherwise I'll get attached to my first picks and not change them even though they might not make sense with the bracketing.

  As soon as the brackets are up, I'll give a preliminary prediction. Looks like Firestone will be it's brutal self this year. All the sectional results are online. Go to www.ohiowrestling.net and you can get them.

  Not trying to be a jerk, just that it takes like 20 seconds to make an account and the way the software is set up doesn't make it straightforward for me to post the pairings.

  The reason I have it set up on www.ohiowrestlingsite.com is because I am a moderator on that site and can lock it when I leave to go watch the wrestling.. This is a very time consuming project on my part. Try to keep a tally for over 50 entrants. And they will want to know who won before I am even home. I've been doing this for a while and I know what I know!! It takes about a minute to set up an account, if that's too much don't enter!!

  Also, I hope for the rest of our sake's that you aren't as accurate with these predictions as you were at the WB sectional. Did you look at my brakedown of your picks? You were spot on through 6 places at at least one weight class and were close in most.

  Looks like lots of entrants this year. We will see if Boro Fan knows anything about D2! If the weather is what they say I will be locking this up about 2:00 PM tomorrow as I am making the trip the Garfield Hts for the 1st day.
  
  I think we have a sponsor for the person who finishes last. It will be a pink T-Shirt (nuff said). Last year tooold took that honor with 269 points.
  
  Anyway I will be at Firestone on Saturday morning and stay until the session is over. My father turns 70 Saturday and we have a big shindig planned in the evening. Some things are more important than wrestling!! I won't even try to look at the results until Sunday morning.
  
  I'll be there all morning and afternoon. I wear a leather USA jacket (one of a kind). Look for me and lets chat or spat!

  WEATHER ALERT
  The Northeast Ohio District Board has cancelled our event for today, Friday, Feb 25.
  We will be wrestling Saturday and Sunday.
  Saturday: weigh-ins will be at 9:00 AM
  Wrestling to begin at 10:00 AM
  Sunday finals will begin at 12:00 noon.
  We will wrestle for 1st, 3rd and 5th places.
  
  Looks like I will be leaving the contest open until about 8:00 AM tomorrow.

  I didn't think the site was that bad. I had a prior committment and had to leave at 3. Watching the live bout board from a phone I was able to get pretty quick updates on the matches.

  Fun Contest. Just to show how close most people were. Look at the number of state qualifiers each contest picked correctly. The top number is 45 scored by the first place finisher and the 25th place person and a lot of people in between. Flip flopping the #1 and #2 guys cost you 28 points. The difference was I had 10 weight classes with the #1 and #2 correct and 7 weight classes with #1, #2, and #3 correct. Lots of points. Best of luck to all in Columbus.
