A kids isn't supposed to wrestle below 7% body fat for males and 12% body fat for females. That weight class at or above a kids weight at 7/12% body fat is his/her minimum wrestling weight and he /she may not reach that weight at a pace faster than losing 1 1/2 % per week. Sounds good right??

If you take the hydration test at a weight below what you weigh at 7% body fat that becomes your minimum wrestling weight. Kids now cut as much as they can right before the hydration test to establish their minimum wrestling weight. They make scratch one time and then get their two pounds at Cristmas. At that point they don't have to make weight until Sectionals. They wrestle up all year and then cut sometimes up to two weight classes from their conference tournament to wrestle their minimum at the Sectional Tournament...so much for losing 1 1/2 percent per week.

The intention of the rule is good but it doesn't work. I have seen kids brag about weighing 120 pounds at District in the 103 class because of weighing out the night before. It's not good for the kid and it's not good for the rest of the weight class. The only solution is mat-side weigh-ins which stink in my opinion.
If they have made their weight to get their two pounds at Christmas it would be against the rules to cut two weight classes. Example, Johnny makes scratch 125 at a home dual on December 18th. He can now get his two pounds growth allowance. If at anytime during the year he wrestles and weighs in at the 135 class he surrenders the 125lbs weight class and may not wrestle at that weight again.

But a wrestler CAN weigh in at 130...bump to wrestle 135, and still retain 125

Your a person that has probably never tried to be the very very best at something. I'am gonna guess I'am pretty right on about that! Everything in a kids life fair or unfair leaves a scar or a mark...If it wasn't important why did car loads of adults follow kids around for 3months? Just try and think about that...If your capable and your own mind is not to scared by envy ??

If they don't get their hearing moved up I would think OHSAA would be showing prejudice because the dad didn't cry loud enough or the kid is not as good as the Nelson twins. If the hearing is not moved up and it was my kid I would call Six on my side, this could make enough noise and put pressure on OHSAA to move up the date. I know faced with the same problem I would make as much noise as possible and would hope the school and coach would do the same. This one is not the kids or the fathers fault. LET THE KID WRESTLE he only has ONE senior year and may never touch a mat again.

Question to Mod. Was Mr. Nelsons last rant personal or did i misunderstand? Again with the envy!!! Is it possible to give him a time out or will Mr. Nelson become the defacto editor of this site?

Agree with the 6 on your side.....this kids last hurrah....Call the TV stations and shed some light on the dictatorship that the OSHAA calls fair and equal. This kid goes from inelibible to HONOR roll.....and then gets smacked in the face with a clerical error?!!!!!???? WOW
