I was able to tape a large amount of the finals (all but two). I'll have them on www.gohiocasts.com hopefully by the morning. As usual, they'll go in order, but will have to be renamed. I'll try to do that later in the day.

Videos are up. No 119 or 125. I only editted three file names to point this fact out. I'll return to give a full edit. Maybe ;)

Will we ever see the 119 or 125 or is it coming later?
  • Lou Demas

Not from my camera. I saw a number of cameras around the gym, but I do not have those two matches on my camera. When I was asked to join the gohio force, I was firm on the fact that I would not go against a coaches desire not to be uploaded. It is their kid, their team, their season. I'm just a fan. Not to mention the OHSAA states that I must get a) the tournament director's consent and b) attending coaches consent. I must have both.

And, Lou, keep with that story. It did WONDERS for that guy!

I m guessing Mason likes the stealth mode???
Too bad I wanted to see Wilsons match.
Thanks for doing what you do Ambassador Cruiser! We Central Ohioans appreciate it!

Wilson vs. Artrip was a good match, but not what you might think. An early takedown, an escape... a long, grinding scramble that really could have been stopped a time or two that let to an eventual turn from Wilson. He (Wilson) also got a turn in the third - maybe two - and that was the difference maker.

One thing that is worth noting from that match... Lee Wilson is either (to steal a line from another thread!) lucky or good. (I'm pretty sure this is how it went down) The score was tied 5-5 and Wilson was on top. He had already been warned and on his way back in from going out of bounds, his coaches are like, "Kick him. You have to kick him and take him down." Wilson says no, no, no. I got this. He gets an early turn for a 5 count and then another one for three more. He ended up with legs in and got high and gave up a late reversal. Good match. Very grinding and intense.

Thanks for that info. Wilson is very good!

Massillon Jackson is having a heckuva season thus far.

Agreed. Mass. Jackson is good. Technically sound and physical. I was very impressed with Donley (140). AMAZINGLY quick with his transitions. Concerning team points: They missed out on their number one seed at 135 losing early in his pool, so the best he could get was 5th. There was some contraversy there, but that's how the old ball bounces I guess.

Congrats to Mason not bad with JV team. They only brought 4 varsity wrestlers and 2 of the Luria and Artrip wrestled up a weight class.

    Where was 125 Jorge Gonzalez?
  • cruiser_96
Mason: It certainly was not their FULL varsity line-up. I had to the chance to talk to the coach, and for various reasons (injuries, alpha weights, SAT's and ACT's), the Comets are yet to put, what he believes to be, their best line-up on the mat. When asked when he thinks it'll happen, he stated hopefully before mid February (implying sectionals I assumed).

Mason is good. And so is Massillon Jackson.
