What is considerd a slam????

  Just currious. I dont have a rulebook in front of me,but a jv wrestler got DQ today for hitting a standing (i call it peanut roll. ) where u have wrist control and dive through ur opponents legs and hook his leg right into a tilt.Instead of rolling though the kid went right to his face,head, neck area. the offensive guy got hit for a slam and a point.The other kid never got up.Therfore the kid lost the match.He never lifted or exhibited unessary roughness.At worst it was a move gone wrong.If that is considerd a slam, what would be the difference between arm chopping someone really hard and the bottom guy hitting his head.
  
  Just wondering if it was just a bad jv call or an acutual rule.

  A slam is a judgement call by the official. It is the responsibility of the wrestler to bring him back to the mat safely and controlled. As soon as I read this "Instead of rolling though the kid went right to his face,head, neck area." that probably was a slam in the judgement of that official. You will never get a 100% agreement on this, like stalling because it is up the judgement of the official on that mat.

  This is called a clemson roll. should never be called a slam. Not sure how you can be called for a slam without lifting someone

  Again the definition of slam doesn't have to contain lifting your opponent. Bringing your opponent to the mat not under control or safely in the eyes of the official from any position can be a slam.

  There's the move from the mat. It's a great move that isn't taught enough in wrestling rooms. I guess I understand what you mean fab, but I disagree with the rule

  One thing to remember, that is college and this is HS and it is called differently. Now if that move is done correctly there is no danger, but you take the opponent to the head/neck uncontrolled it can be a slam in any level.

  Ya true. Not sure how someone butchered the move so badly that his opponent went face first... should be torking your opponent so that he is spiralling to his back before even coming close to the mat

  I see the refs go crazy on this one, sometimes they call it when did doesnt even look like one, and yet when you hear the crowd going crazy..they never call it.
