Lots of schools. Who are the favorites for the weight classes? Sorry dont know all of these schools. I know Western Brown is Div 1 around Cincy/Dayton area. When are they doing seeding?

I'm really looking forward to this tournament should be some top notch competition from some smaller schools, with a few bigger schools sprinkled in. Although, I must admit it won't be able to take the place of the GMVWA.

The GMVWA is a great tourney. But, this one has some very interesting match-ups. And, yes you "dont belong" michigan fan. Yuck...j/k. To each his own. Just not here! LOL

LOL, Precisely the reason behind the name...

It may not take the place from a sentimentality or a personal preference point on view, but there will be certain (maybe 4-5) weight classes here that will be tougher on paper than GMVWA. One really must look at individual classes when talking about tourney strength. Coaches love to say "we went to Medina" when Wadsworth (rip) or even a Fairfield bracketed tourney may have had significantly tougher weight classes. Not saying your wrong or arguing, just mentioning a point as an aside.

With it being a two day tourney the seedings will be very interesting. I think the Branham vs Ankrom bout will be the best (if they are at the same weight class).

Has Branham given up on the 119 class?
  • n8gc
Branham will be 119. Reichle will be 130. Prather will be 160. Harper will be 145. Feucht will be 112.
  • keato5
Not sure if Circleville will be healthy yet, but if they are they should finish in the top 3.

He will be a big 119.....I'm sure the extra 2 lbs won't hurt!! Maybe there could be a Reichle vs Ankrom matchup at 130?

Branham has the option to cut to 12, he is pretty big but will he do it? If he does he has a much better chance of winning a title

I'm hoping Ankrom vs. Reichle happens. Will be there.

    Where is Capital HS?

Branham, Ankrom, Reichle all at different weights.....
  • Slide Bye
Not alot of info on Capital HS????
  • kennypowers
Capital is from West "by god" Virginia
  • Sid
The 125 and 160 groups look pretty deep. Should be some good bouts there.

I wonder if the WVA seeds' performances will turn out the same as Kentucky kids when they wrestle in Ohio tournaments? I think the big GMVWA tourney this week goes as far as to treat KY state results the same as Ohio district placements. It will interesting to see if all these Capital seeds can earn results equal to their seeding.......

Looks like C-ville still has four starters out, Knul-Davis-Otero-Ford.....Hopefully they still have enough in lineup to compete.....Anyone going to update throughout the day?

Well rough tourney for Tigers, didnt wrestle great and another wrestler didnt come back for day two with injury. They also had two more get sick and one of them didnt come back today either. I believe Tigers only have the other Ford brother going for the title at 189. Holloway at 140 is going for third, and Cummings at 103 going for 5th. Good luck to those wrestlers.
  • Sid
LOL, I just noticed one of the wrestlers is named Jabob.....lol. Sry! Im soo ashamed. Maybe its a typo.

    What? Wow????
  • keato5
Knul broken hand, Otero broken ribs, Davis sick, and Ford pulled groin.
