Where is your team wrestling this weekend!?

  The opening weekend is upon us. A good number of teams will begin their 2010-2011 campaign on either Friday or Saturday.
  
  Where will your team open???
  
  For the Cruisers, we run a JV tournament, so our 4.5 varsity wrestlers will be manning a table and counting takedowns, reversals and escapes.
  
  But where will YOUR varsity team be?????

  Marion Franklin is at Ashland Bookmasters invitational.
  It is going to be pretty tough. Nice way to have the eyes of new kids blasted open by good competition.
  Lorain southview will be dropping the smack down on most everyone there.

  We(Darby) are off also hosting a Frosh tourney, but I'll be at Picktown Lakeview for a nice Jr High tourney.
  
  FYI Lorain Southview is now combined with the other Lorain school. They should be even better than the past smackn it down harder!

  I think Lorain Southview, one of the most storied public school programs in Ohio, closed its doors last year. I believe they merged with Admiral King High School (although I could be wrong about that). Is Billy Kopp still the coach up there?

  Yes Copp is around, but I think he is about done. They are still tough as nails. It is good for our columbus kids to get a look at REAL wrestling from Northeastern Ohio. Southview has some great kids coming back, and one potential state champ in Narsico Inchurrguei(I know I spelled that wrong)
  Should be a pretty descent tourny. St. Eds B team will be there as well.

  e correct. He is tough. He wrestled on our All star team 2 years ago at New ALbany.

  I think West Branch is wrestling in a tournament in Mt. Vernon.

  Youth Wrestling begins this Sunday at Firestone as well (ok, many other spots across Ohio, but you get the idea).

  My boy is 7, in 1st grade, and this will be his 3rd year...he can't get enough wrestling. He wants to do a tournament every weekend.

  You are correct about the merge.
  They(SV) used to come to the Darby Porter Memorial in Jan(now the Bradley Porter)
  They werent there last yr though and dont think they are coming back.
