Which returning placer from Central d2 has the best shot at a state title this year?

  • ksig489
Like the title asks, who has the best shot to jump to the top of the podium?

There are 16 other returning state qualifiers from central Ohio in d2 as well. If it's not one of the guys in the poll...who is it?

As far as my quick research tells me, the returning qualifiers are:

    Olentangy - McHugh, Caserta, Hetterscheidt
    Big Walnut - Brown
    Canal Winchester - Hutchins
    Hartley - Zang, Jackson
    Jonathan Alder - Baker
    Whitehall - Clark
    Hilliard Bradley - Higgins
    Licking Heights - Dunlap
    Licking Valley - Redman
    DeSales - Gutierrez
    London - Thompson
    Hamilton Township - Settles
    Lakewood - King

    Jonathan Alder - Baker

You mean Blankenship? Now that Throcksomethingit graduated, I think Blankenship is good enough to win it.

Blankenship is in the poll...the other list is just returning qualifiers.

Blankenship is the real deal, but there is also Macintosh (Mechanicsburg) at this weight, which I consider Central Ohio.

    Mechanicsburg is D3

I didnt include any teams that aren't considered central district for the post season, no matter how close they physically are to central Ohio.

Higgins from bradley is top 4 maybe champ...bold prediction but im calling it.

redman is not the only valley wrestler that will be tough this year, maybe not state champs but the whole team will be a hand full. I'm ready for football to be done allready !

Hmmm... Licking Valley, huh? They won the inagural Cruiser Invitational last year! V - E - R - Y tough.

Higgins needs to get much better on his feet to win a state title. He is as good as it gets on top, I hope he spent the offseason working on his feet. If so, he is going to be dangerous.

If Price manages to get back to 103 again, he could be tough to beat. I assume Fiorucci's days at 103 are in the past?
  • ksig489
I would expect Price at 112...and Fiorucci at like 125. Every time I saw him last year he said he wanted to move up several weight classes. He apparantly REALLY likes to eat!

Price at 112 is still a huge kid for the weight class.
  • Westie101
Fiorucci will be no bigger than 119 IMO. 112 is a hard cut for him, but i dont think its out of the question.

Westie, you need to start making your college prognostications. High school is over for you home boy!!!!
Anyway, I like Price at 112 to mix thinks up. Marsico from Pick North is right there with anyone IMO. He could have easily placed last year..... Could have doesn't get you the hardware though. We will have to wait till March..

<ZING font on>Did Pick. North drop to DII!? I mean, because the thread is OBVIOUSLY about DII. And I'm sure you knew that, so therefore, you wouldn't post about a DI guy. I mean let's face it, you ARE one tough hombre'!!!

Perhaps you have been away from things for awhile and this is just you "knocking off the rust". Yeah, let's go with that.

...a DI guy placing in DII! Har har har... <ZING font off>

Is Marsico even in Ohio anymore?

No doubt....you're right. However, there is a huge difference between 103 and 112.....especially once you get to the Schott and mix it up with the "big" boys

    Heard McHugh-Olentangy moved to Indiana.
    Is that true?
