Who is on the team and how will the fair this year?
  • Westie101
Theres alot of studs on the team, DiSabato, Murdock, Fiorucci, Higgins, Brown, Hunter, Caserta, McLaughlin, Riley, Heminger, so many other state placers and qualifiers. i think there making 4 teams this year!

Four Teams out of Mt. Vernon/Olentangy/ Generally Central Ohio. Two teams out of Lake Erie/ Generally Northwest Ohio, and I believe at least one team from Northeast Ohio. So... at least seven teams. Don't know of any from Cincinnati, but you'd think there'd be some.

18 teams are entered -- 9 are from Ohio -- the four Central Ohio-ish teams, Ohio Liberty (???), two Lake Erie teams, a northeast Ohio team, and a Cincinnati area team.

    Teams Entered:
Michigan Red, Ohio Gray, Chesapeake wrestling, Ohio South, MAWA Red, Lake Erie Monsters, South Dakota Blue, Ohio Blue, Phoenix Wrestling, Michigan White, Ohio Liberty, Potomac Valley, Lake Erie Storm, MAWA Blue, Brecksville - Ohio, South Dakota Red, Ohio Scarlet, Ohio White

Wrestling starts today. Results will be available on the web site -- Come on Westie -- post the rosters for your teams... someone had to have packed a laptop.

Results for the first two rounds are posted. For round one, you need to scroll all the way through Disney rosters to get to JO results. And I suppose for round 2 you have to ignore the fact it says Weightlifting results at the top. I was soooo confused....

Whooohooo Westie101 -- Just heard somebody on the White (2nd) team had a nice win over the Blue team kid.! Sounds like emotions are running high even between teammates. Blue has Oak Harbor, I mean Lake Erie Monsters... later today.

More than one White over Blue win today... Josh Hunter defeats Angelo DiSabato. Again... emotional matches.

Losses against your own team didn't count they were considered "exhibition matches"
  • Westie101
i didnt win gold, i went 15-1 and got silver.
  • wrestlingfan101
im kinda confused on why they wouldnt count matches against your own team? that doesnt seem to make much sense to me? im just confused as to how someone loses a match and still technically goes undefeated? i am not taking away from these young men who wrestled tough all week im just confused on why those matches counted as exhibition matches? that doesnt seem to make much sense to me if you lose to someone in a match even if it is against your other team it should still count unless the person you wrestled was an extra or something and you didnt get an actual match during the dual for example if you got a forfeit during the dual and then wrestled someone else after the dual as an exhibition match that makes sense to me as why they wouldnt count it but if you wrestled someone during the actual dual and they counted towards the team score and everything i dont really get why that wouldnt count towards your record and why it would only be counted as an exhibition even if it was against one of your other teams?

    I heart punctuation!

What's even more confusing is that the Team Scores from the duals between the so called "same teams" reflect team points beng scored for the so called "exhibition matches". So the final Dual Scores show there were team points earned for the wins & losses just like a regular match.

I wonder if the results of these "exhibition duas" were used in the final team rankings, rather than results of forfeits, and if that would make any difference in final team standings.
    Very confusing.

Figured out what? Go to the site, click on the JR. Olympics, scroll down. Don't log in, click on "continue" then all of these wonderful pictures come up. There are some great pictures of my kid (asleep on the mat, wrestling a team mate, etc.) and there are many pictures of Ohio kids. Missed the trip, love the pictures.
