Dreams about wrestling...
-
cruiser_96I've been wanting to post this thread for quite some time now, but never really actually did it. Well, now I can say I've done it.
Anyone out there have dreams that they are wrestling or are at a wrestling event??? I'm not talking goals... I'm talking you go to bed, you fall asleep, and while you are asleep, you have a dream about wrestling.
A few that I remember...
In high school or shortly thereafter, I had a dream I was at an open mat. This open mat was tight for whatever reason and there wasn't much room. People standing alongside the wrestling area all over. It was my turn and I got to tangle with THEE Sonny Marchette. I took him down. In my dream, I remember thinking who do I have to wrestle now. But I woke up.
Another dream I had was an arial view at a tournament. It was me versus Eddie Jayne and I was having some kind of out-of-body experience. The mat was huge and as I drifted up, I noticed it was a tie-dye mat. Crazy stuff.
During the season, I notice I have quite a few more wrestling oriented dreams. But I'm sure I'll have some in the off-season. I'll be sure to post them.
Any others out there??? -
lowsingle174Yes, I just recently had a dream I was wrestling Jesse Dong at O.U.
I always have dreams about not making weight. Let the record reflect that I have never NOT made weight!! -
Fab1bI have had dreams for years that I am going back in present time to still wrestle for my high school and of course I am cutting a ton of weight to do so.

Ozzie8383I sometimes dream of soda machines, water falls, pools filled with Gatorade, and never ending lakes of all-sport sports drink. I then wake up feeling extremely thirsty... I think it stems from wrestling. ha

Gardens35One time I dreamed I was in a Hollywood movie...........and that I was the star of the movie. This really blew my mind.

MPhillipsI had a dream, oh, my, crazy dream, oh, oh.

said_aouitaI've had the dream of the Dernlan brothers versus many of the Graham wrestlers. I have dreamed of Brett Henderson as a Sr in HS wrestling Alan Fried as a Sr in HS in a room with out coaches.

hizzmutherI have never wrestled once in my life and I have dreams about high school wrestling all the time. Usually these dreams involve alarms not going off, letting the kid sleep through a tournament, not being able to find the tournament, driving to the wrong town, finding the school and wandering around aimlessly unable to get in the building.

MPhillipsThose aren't dreams...Those are "off season" tourneys!

mr.madryI've never dreamed of an actual wrestling match. However If I have a fight in my dream then my actions are sort of like the evolution of grappling. I start with a step up double or a greco roman bear hug to take him down. Then some kinda of submission hold while punching him in the head (MMA style) and I always finish it off with a move I created on Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 called the Oh My Goodness (Electric Chair Drop to German Suplex)! Don't look at me like that! I know that there are "professional" wrestling fans in this very thread!

So, I'm NOT the only wrestling mom who has had those dreams? Whew. On Saturdays in season when I have to get up at 5 a.m. to take him to the school, I often dream that we oversleep, etc.hizzmuther wrote: I have never wrestled once in my life and I have dreams about high school wrestling all the time. ninja"I like to dream of Jesus with giant eagle wings, and singin' lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band & I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk.

wrstlr2504i've actually had probably 5 or 6 vivid dreams about me wrestling in the state tournament my senior year and beating the guy who beat me 2-1 in the quarters, only to have a rematch with the guy who beat me at the state duals tournament 7-5 in the state finals....i usually wake up before the match is over, but there was one time i stayed asleep until the end of the match and i won in ot

cruiser_96Last night I had a dream that Cameron Wade was on third base for the Pittsburg Pirates. They were playing the Reds, who were in the field at the time. I think - from what I can remember - he was pinch running. I mean come on, you think HE'S legging out a shot to the corner of the right field wall!?!
I can't tell you the last time I saw, heard or read anything about Cameron Wade. It might have been the Ohio State vs. Penn State dual and as a matter of fact I think I'm right on that. Even though he's been out of my mind since then, he still shows up in my dream!
Just a quick note... there is a difference between someone being in my dream and me dreaming about them! That's all I'm going to say about that. -
I Wear PantsDid he flip off the umpire in that dream?

I feel like even a big guy like Cameron Wade should be able to make it home on a hit to right field. The scary part about that dream would be if you were the catcher and there was a play at the plate. On the subject, I always used to dream about glasses of milk during the season. If that isn't a sgn of being under nourished I don't know what is.cruiser_96 wrote: Last night I had a dream that Cameron Wade was on third base for the Pittsburg Pirates. cruiser_96tsk, tsk, I wear pants! To me it wasn't the flippin gof the bird. It was the ABSOLUTE towering over the ref that REALLY concerned me. That ref could have jumped inside Cam's naval passage. Well, I mean other than the ffact that Cam had a singlet on. But you get my point.

ShankapotamusI had a dream that I was watching a championship team dual and the 98 pounders were going at it fast and furiously. When I looked up at the scoreboard neither team's name had a prefix of St. or a suffix of Academy or Prep in their name. The first bout was exciting and although it was close, the kid with a one point lead wasn't hit with a stalling warning in the third period. Great match. The competitive action continued to be great throughout the lineup and the crowd and teams were very vocal yet sportsmanlike.
As I scanned the crowed I noticed one of my former grade school teachers from years ago. Surprised to see her in attendence, I asked her "why she was there?"
She replied, "just to support my former students and neighbors. You see, I taught this group of kids in the first grade and most live in my neighborhood and I even went to school with most of their parents. It was a special group. I have followed them throughout our system I am glad to see the group has stuck together even though some have struggled academically and socially their parents recognized it early in their developement and straightened them out long before junior high or even 8th grade. There was once talk of our star being pursuaded away to The Super High School, but in the end his parents simply did not want to up root the family in pursuit of the holy grail. Of course, he could have commuted an hour each day but they decided against it. Seems to have worked out as he has been highly successful and rumor has it that he has schloraship offers from most of the SEC and PAC 10 schools. I must admit that I worried as they all turned 16 and began to drive late in their sophomore and junior years, but then again that is just the worrier in me. Can you believe that there are actually some freshman that drive to school? My how times have changed!"
Back to the action, the dual was close and tied. Down to the Unlimited weight class and the crowd is in a frenzy. Great match, no leaning Coke machines, no stalling, no 2OT ride for a 1-0 win. Instead a thrilling last second explosive double leg for a local 15-14 win at the buzzer!
Whoops, that wasn't the buzzer. It was my alarm clock. Must have been a dream. -
cruiser_96Last night I had a dream that I was travelling up to Solon for their open mats, but I'm not sure if I had anybody in the van or not. I stopped to use the restroom (I think) but did so at a high school. Who was there but Brad Harris! When asked what he was doing in Mansfield, he said not much. After that he said he had to get back to giving his clinic. He ran onto the mat and started teaching.
I was transported back to my van where there were two kids waiting. I'm not sure who they were but I was telling them that I just ran into THE! Brad Harris.
...and then I woke up.
